A new Elden Ring bug has surfaced, granting Astel a game-changing ability. Astel appears twice in the game as a boss and mini-boss, both of which are optional but challenging battles. Known as Astel, Naturalborn of the Void and Astel, Stars of Darkness, the fights require strategic tactics and endurance. Astel is a formidable creature that frequently teleports around the arena and unleashes powerful attacks capable of causing significant damage.
In a video shared on Reddit by user RaZz1r on May 26, a bug was revealed during the mini-boss fight against Astel, Stars of Darkness. Astel's attack involves slamming one of its legs into the ground and generating pulses of energy, which causes a game-breaking glitch where the graphics become severely distorted and make it difficult for the player to see what is happening. The video concludes with the player being defeated by Astel. Although bugs are rare in the game, Elden Ring has experienced boss fight-related glitches in the past, ranging from amusing to beneficial or detrimental to the player. Nevertheless, FromSoftware, the game's developers, make it a point to address and resolve any bugs or glitches brought to their attention, although some may go unnoticed.
The presence of a bug that hinders gameplay and causes players to die unexpectedly can lead to frustration and outrage. This particular glitch, similar to another observed Astel bug, may indicate larger problems with the Astel, Stars of Darkness mini-boss fight that require attention. However, it's important to note that some game glitches only occur under specific conditions or actions, so it's possible this is an isolated case. Regardless, notifying FromSoftware of the issue could lead to a fix, as has been the case with past Elden Ring glitches.
Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
