Asher Adams is making sure his heart is healthy in episode 3 of All American season 6.
We got a special sneak peek of the upcoming episode airing on Monday, April 15. In this episode, Asher (played by Cody Christian) goes for a checkup because he was told he had a cardiomyopathy back in season 3.
Asher asks Dr. Lesage, "How bad is it?" after undergoing treadmill testing. The doctor reassures him, saying, "Your bloodwork looks good." She also mentions that his cardiomyopathy isn't causing any additional harm to his heart.
Dr. Lesage goes on to explain that with the combination of a specialized diet, monitored workouts, and new medications over the past year, Asher's heart is in the best condition it has been in for quite some time.
Asher was asked about his overall stress levels, to which he mentioned that he was doing fine. He shared that he and his girlfriend, Jaymee (Miya Horcher), have managed to establish a decent schedule for their son, AJ. Despite being a full-time student and assistant coach at Coastal California University, things have been relatively pressure-free lately.
The doctor responded positively, saying, "OK, good." He advised Asher to continue doing a good job in managing his stress levels and to keep them to a minimum. The doctor also mentioned that he will schedule another appointment in a couple of months.
Asher may appear relieved at the end of the scene, but it's uncertain whether he is truly stress-free. In the early episodes of All American season 6, Asher has been juggling fatherhood, work responsibilities, and schoolwork, all of which have been challenging for him. It may be too soon for Christian to relax about Asher's health status.
The actor, aged 28, mentioned in an exclusive interview with Us that he believes viewers will remain engaged and interested in seeing how the situation unfolds. He emphasized that when dealing with a serious medical issue, there are two possible outcomes. Asher is currently walking on thin ice.

Christian mentioned that it is understandable for fans to feel concerned about the character's condition. He also hinted that the people in Asher's life might feel the same way.
"We will have to wait and see if Asher shows maturity and growth when faced with difficult decisions about his heart. We will see if he is ready to handle them in a healthy manner," Christian teased.
Christian has been a part of All American since it first aired in 2018. Initially seen as a villain, the character has now become a fan favorite, being a close friend to Jordan Baker and Spencer. They even shared a beach house together in the past two seasons.
In season 5, Asher's life took a turn when Jaymee revealed she was pregnant. Playing the role of a young father on screen has been a rewarding experience for Christian as an actor.
He told Us that being a dad has brought out the loving and nurturing side of Asher that has always been a part of him. Christian mentioned seeing Asher's desire to be the best father he can be shining through, which was a pleasant surprise.
Looking back, Christian finds it almost unbelievable to think about the person Asher was when All American first started.
Starting with Asher and seeing him become the most caring and dedicated father has been an incredible journey. It's really amazing to witness. When the babies are on set, everyone is just filled with joy and happiness. It adds a special spark to the show.
Don't forget to catch All American on The CW on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET.
