Arnold Schwarzenegger's granddaughter shares his passion for animals, proving that the love for furry friends runs in the family

Arnold Schwarzenegger's love for animals has clearly been passed down to his grandchildren. As the grandfather to Katherine Schwarzenegger's two children, Lyla and Eloise, he has noticed that three-year-old Lyla shares his fondness for pets. Schwarzenegger proudly reveals that his collection of animals, consisting of a dog, a miniature horse, a donkey, and a pig, particularly captivates Lyla's affection.

In an interview published on Saturday, the former governor of California told People that when Lyla visits him, her first question is always, "Where's Cherry?" - referring to his little dog. He reassures her by saying, "Cherry is waiting for you." The former governor also shared that Lyla and her mother discuss various topics, and he revealed that his granddaughter affectionately calls him "Opa," which means grandfather in German.

"Mommy, can we visit Opa and see Cherry? Of course, we can go tomorrow. And so they come over: Cherry, Cherry, Cherry," Schwarzenegger shared with the publication. He also mentioned that Lyla happily holds Cherry in her lap.

To add to Lyla's joy, the seventy-year-old movie star has a diverse collection of pet animals that go beyond Cherry. This includes Schnelly, a pig, Whiskey, a miniature horse, and Lulu, a miniature donkey.

Schwarzenegger described, "I led the pig around and noticed her growing fond of it. I then suggested, 'Do you want to go outside? Let's head to the stable and see the horses.' With that, she willingly grasped my hand as we strolled towards the fields, ultimately reaching the stables for her delightful visit with the horses."
