Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney's Bold Response to Critics Following the Launch of Something About Her (Exclusive)

Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney have a message for their haters after opening their sandwich shop, Something About Her.

At the opening of the Los Angeles sandwich shop, Madix, 38, shared with us: “We made a joke that we were going to put a sandwich on the menu called ‘Your words,’ so they can eat them.”

Madix shared that despite some skepticism about the restaurant, she and Maloney are optimistic and eager for everyone to enjoy it. They are committed to constantly improving and evolving the restaurant over time.

Maloney emphasized that the dedication and effort put into the restaurant will be apparent to customers. She believes that the quality of their work will speak for itself, eliminating the need for any further explanation.

The opening of Something About Her has been a long time coming. Madix and Maloney faced several setbacks with the establishment, including permit complications, which viewers saw on Vanderpump Rules.

“We’re trying to focus on the things that we can control and then the powers that be with the things that we can’t control. We’re just rolling with the punches,” Madix told Us in October 2023 while Maloney added, “That’s the thing is that every time we turn around there’s something else.”

When Something About Her had its soft launch, Lisa Vanderpump was not there in person, but she still showed her support for Madix and Maloney from a distance.

"I've been traveling a lot recently. I've been to Lake Tahoe, Vegas, and New York," Vanderpump, 63, told Us exclusively on Monday, May 20, explaining why she couldn't attend the event. "I just got back from New York two days ago. I've been all over the place."

The restaurateur gave some business advice to Madix and Maloney during a conversation with Us on Monday. Vanderpump suggested having a soft opening for the restaurant before inviting people, allowing a few weeks to iron out any issues. It is common practice in the restaurant business to wait a couple of weeks to a month before fully opening to the public.

Although the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum was not present at the soft opening, former VPR star Stassi Schroeder, Bravo producer Andy Cohen, and Summer House’s Lindsay Hubbard visited the shop to try the sandwiches.

Something About Her officially opens on Wednesday, May 22.
