Apple's Enhanced Self-Repair Program Unveils Exciting Upgrades

Apple's self-repair program, once criticized for neglecting repairs, now impresses with new device additions Owners can easily access official parts and tools for repairs, showcasing Apple's commitment to improving customer experience

Apple has expanded its self-repair program to include the latest iPhone 14 lineup and M2-powered MacBooks such as the 13-inch MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. However, it is worth noting that the 15-inch MacBook Air, as well as the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros powered by the M2 Pro and M2 Max, are not yet included. Additionally, the newer Mac Mini, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro desktop computers are also not part of the program.

The recent addition of devices to the list is a positive development, although it still lacks many recent devices. However, the most recent computers included are the 13-inch MacBooks powered by M2, which are already a year old. While users with newer iPhones shouldn't encounter any issues, those hoping to repair their own recently released Mac may still face a wait.

Fortunately, if you do have a device that is repairable, the process is now becoming even more convenient. As part of this expansion, Apple has made a significant change to how the post-repair software tool, System Configuration, works. Previously, users had to call Apple's support line to validate a repair. However, now all you need to do after a repair is enter diagnostics mode on the device and follow the on-screen prompts.
