Aoki Lee Simmons showed that simplicity can make a statement at New York City galas. The 21-year-old model opted for a subtle look at Columbia Law School’s Barrister’s Ball on April 6. She wore a delicate pink spaghetti strap gown from Mango.

The stunning outfit Aoki wore had a cowl neck and feather detailing at the bottom. She paired it with black boots and a black purse, completing the look with a ponytail and black winged eyeliner.

Aoki recently made a public appearance after announcing her relationship with Vittorio Assaf, co-founder of Serafina Restaurant Group. They were spotted vacationing together in St. Barts on Tuesday, April 2.

According to a source on Friday, April 5, Aoki and Assaf are currently spending quality time together and are enjoying each other's company.

Aoki, an Ivy League alum, attended Columbia Law’s Barrister’s Ball on Saturday. Simmons, on the other hand, graduated from Harvard University in June 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

“I feel grateful, proud, and relieved — in that order!” Aoki shared with People. “It’s a surreal feeling to be done with something that was such a huge part of my life. Now, like every other graduate, I’m on to the next chapter.”

Aoki, the daughter of model and Baby Phat founder Kimora Lee Simmons and entrepreneur Russell Simmons, has been fortunate to have many opportunities. Despite this, she has chosen to concentrate on her modeling career after completing her education.

During an interview with The Cut in February 2023, Aoki shared that she has received criticism for her choice to pursue modeling following her Harvard education.

“I think sometimes with modeling, it can be a little bit of sexism,” she told the publication. “I think industries dominated by women are just not always considered with the same merits.”
