MAPPA has finally released the preview synopsis and images for episode 17 of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, titled "Thunderclap, part 2," after a four-hour delay. The episode is scheduled to be released on Thursday, November 16, 2023. It will first air on NBS/TBS at 11.56 pm JST and will later be available for streaming on various platforms. In the previous episode, Megumi fought against the reanimated Toji, who was reminded of his son during the battle. Discovering that his son had taken the Fushiguro name, Toji happily killed himself. Meanwhile, Sukuna defeated Jogo in their intense fight, reducing him to ashes. Shortly after, Uraume appeared before Sukuna.

Nevertheless, rather than engaging with Uraume, Sukuna is shown confronting Mahoraga in the preview. Therefore, fans will witness Sukuna battling Mahoraga and discover the circumstances leading to the King of Curses fighting the shikigami, even as it had its sights set on Haruta Shigemo.

In an offer to Jogo and the Cursed Spirits, Ryomen Sukuna proposed a condition in which he would spare only one individual in Shibuya and eliminate all others for the Cursed Spirits if Jogo lost the bet. Following Sukuna's victory over Jogo, there is anticipation that the anime will potentially disclose the hidden truth.
