In the upcoming episode of The Way Home, Andie MacDowell’s character, Del Landry, reveals her family's complicated history with the Goodwins and the fate of her farm.
Del shares with her daughter, Kat Landry (played by Chyler Leigh), that the Goodwins have made a decent offer to buy the land, leaving her torn about whether to accept it or not. This exclusive preview from We gives a glimpse into the upcoming episode airing on Sunday, March 17 on the Hallmark Channel.
Kat is adamant that there must be another way to stay afloat. “Mom, no. We’re talking of hundreds of years of Landry blood, sweat and tears,” she replies.

Kate asserts her opinion, stating, "I’m only telling you out of courtesy, what makes you think you have a say in this?" Del, being stubborn, questions why she believes she has a say in the matter. Kate reminds him that both she and their daughter Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow) are members of the Landry family and therefore have a say in the decision.
Kat firmly opposes her mom's decision to sell their land to the Goodwins, stating that it goes against her father's wishes and his legacy.
She holds a strong negative opinion of the Goodwins, citing various negative encounters she had with them during her time traveling adventures in 1814 in season 2. Kat, as a Landry woman, possesses the ability to travel back in time to the past where her brother, Jacob Landry, was sent as a child. Additionally, her daughter Alice has also traveled through time to the '90s and formed a friendship with a younger version of her mother.
Kat is unable to reveal the truth to Del about the Goodwins from the past, as Del does not know about Kat's visits to that time. This includes the revolutionary version of the Goodwins who were involved in the arrest and beating of Jacob.
Del is only familiar with the 21st century Goodwins, led by the late Evelyn Goodwin.
Del admits to Kat that he has always felt grateful to Evelyn for her actions many years ago. He reminds Kat that not everyone would have been as forgiving.

Del expresses her gratitude towards her son for his generous offer, despite not being able to repay the debt following Evelyn's passing.
Kat was upset by her mother's words, questioning why support from family is seen as a handout while help from the Goodwins is considered generosity. She walked away feeling offended.
In a previous episode, Kat and her close friend Elliot Augustine hinted at a troubling event that took place at Evelyn's Lingermore estate when they were younger.
Alice began her investigation into a mysterious event on the Sunday, March 10 episode after realizing that nobody was willing to discuss it. She stumbled upon a picture from the scene, revealing blood, a mask, and glasses scattered on the floor.
The episode concluded with Elliot reading an entry from an October 2007 journal, expressing guilt and concern about facing Alice if she were to return. "How can I face Alice again if she ever comes back?" the entry questioned. "It's all my fault."
Del, however, seemingly hints in the above teaser that Kat was partly to blame for whatever transpired all those years ago at Lingermore.
The Way Home airs on Hallmark Channel Sundays at 9 p.m. ET.
Editor's P/S:
The preview of the upcoming episode of "The Way Home" tantalizes with its portrayal of the complicated family dynamics and secrets that lie beneath the surface. Del's contemplation of selling the family farm, a historic symbol of Landry legacy, sets off a clash with her daughter Kat. Her adamant opposition stems from not only her father's wishes but also from her own negative experiences with the Goodwins in the past.
However, Del's perspective differs, reflecting a gratitude towards the late Evelyn Goodwin, whose past actions have left a profound impact. The underlying tension between the two women stems from Kat's inability to reveal the truth about the Goodwins from the past. This conflict between gratitude and historical grievances creates a compelling narrative that promises to unfold as the episode airs. As the episode airs, viewers can anticipate a captivating blend of family drama, historical intrigue, and unresolved mysteries that will keep them on the edge of their seats.
