Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan will star in a new Karate Kid movie that is currently searching globally for the next Karate Kid. The film, yet to be titled, will be directed by Johnathan Entwistle, known for his TV work on I'm Not Okay With This and The End of the F***ing World, with a screenplay written by Rob Lieber. It is yet unknown whether the new film will involve the events and cast of Cobra Kai. Chan, who starred in a franchise reset with Jaden Smith in 2010, will reprise his role as Mr. Han in the new film. The tentative release date set by Sony is December 13, 2024 and filming is likely to take place in the spring.
