His personal life has also garnered attention, as he has been open about his pursuit of romantic relationships. The spotlight has been on Alex Pall, one half of the EDM duo The Chainsmokers, for over a decade, and so has his romantic life. The “Closer” artist has been quite open about his dating adventures, discussing his explicit priorities, mentioning threesomes with fans, and publicly expressing his sorrow over a past relationship which ended after his infidelity was exposed.

Pall and Woodward started their relationship in February 2014 but eventually broke up four years later due to her allegations of infidelity by her long-term boyfriend, which she claimed happened multiple times.

In a lengthy Instagram post, she accused him of cheating and referred to surveillance camera footage that seemed to show him with another woman. She stated, "This is not the first time he has cheated on me." She also mentioned other instances where he denied any involvement with other women, but eventually admitted to it, suggesting that because it is a common behavior for men, it is not a big deal. She remarked that he believes being famous gives him a different set of rules for decency. Surprisingly, he has not even apologized for his actions.

Pall appeared to confess that the footage from the CCTV camera served as undeniable evidence of his unfaithfulness. Speaking to TMZ, he acknowledged, "She truly deserves the best. I can only wish her the best. She deserves a partner who is superior to someone like me." He further mentioned that their highly publicized breakup caused him immense unhappiness but also taught him valuable lessons about becoming a better individual and caring for those who hold affection for you.

Pall and Byrd made their first joint appearance in March 2018, just two months after his infidelity debacle with Woodward. The couple was frequently seen together during the year, even engaging in a public display of affection, and notably attended the amfAR New York gala in February 2019.
