Alejandro Garnacho's breathtaking bicycle kick goal against Everton on Sunday will be etched in memory for years to come, despite its fleeting nature. The 19-year-old's incredible display of athleticism not only propelled Manchester United towards a 3-0 victory but also sparked discussions long after the final whistle.
The goal came in the third minute of the game, following a cross from Diogo Dalot into the Everton box. Despite seeming too far for Garnacho, the forward was able to adjust his position, jump into the air, and execute an overhead kick that sailed past goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and into the far corner of the net.

Alejandro Garnacho, an 18-year-old, emulates Cristiano Ronaldo's iconic celebration after scoring his first goal. The Manchester United prodigy was in disbelief at his accomplishment, joining millions worldwide in celebrating one of the club's greatest goals.
"I cant believe it to be honest," Garnacho told We after the game.
"I didnt see how I scored, I just listened and thought oh my god. One of the best goals Ive scored of course, and Im very happy."
Garnacho has quickly become one of the most promising attacking talents in global football, earning comparisons to five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo following his senior debut for Manchester United in 2022.
After scoring a goal, the young player paid tribute to his former teammate by performing Ronaldo's signature "Siu" celebration. He also shared a picture on his Instagram story, likening his effort to Ronaldo's memorable overhead kick for Real Madrid against Juventus in 2018.
Following his impressive performance on Sunday, the Argentine international has been compared to another Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney.
Garnacho's bicycle kick closely resembled Rooney's memorable overhead goal against Manchester City in 2011, however, United manager Erik ten Hag downplayed the comparisons and encouraged the young player to focus on continual improvement.

"Dont compare, I dont think its right," Ten Hag told reporters after the match when asked about comparisons with Ronaldo and Rooney.
Each of them has their own unique identity, but Garnacho still has a long way to go. He needs to put in consistent, hard work to reach his potential. While he hasn't done so yet, he definitely has the ability to achieve great things. This isn't the first time we've seen his talent shine; we've already caught glimpses of it.
Pure quality
While his manager was reluctant to get carried away, many have been debating whether Garncachos effort is already the Premier Leagues goal of the season.
The goal is a strong contender for this year's Puskás Award, which is given to the best goal in world soccer. "It improves every time you watch it. Exceptional quality. Only a handful of players in the world can showcase that skill," remarked Roy Keane, former captain of Manchester United and pundit for We.
Another former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville, shared a similar sentiment, saying on the Gary Neville Podcast, "I haven't seen a better overhead kick. That was the most beautiful overhead kick."
Garnacho aims to maintain his impressive performance in Manchester United's upcoming Champions League game against Galatasaray on Wednesday. However, despite his potential, he will need to score an even greater goal to further his career.
