Alec Baldwin's Unexpected Comeback on Saturday Night Live

Alec Baldwin surprises fans with a long-awaited comeback to Saturday Night Live after his absence since the tragic 2021 shooting incident on the set of his movie Rust

Alec Baldwin surprised audiences by making a comeback on "Saturday Night Live" this weekend, marking his first appearance since the tragic shooting incident on the set of his movie "Rust" in 2021.

Approximately three years ago, Baldwin was a regular guest on the enduring NBC comedy sketch show where he frequently portrayed the former President Donald Trump.

In a brief, fleeting appearance during Saturday's latest episode of the enduring show, Baldwin, who has hosted "SNL" a remarkable 17 times, made a surprise cameo in a sketch centered around relaxing bedtime stories for the app Calm. With a commanding voice, he declared, "Alright, folks, let's find our calm!"

Shortly after, he joined the night's host Timothée Chalamet and musical guest boygenius for the customary farewell at the end of the show.

In October 2021, during a rehearsal for his western film "Rust," Baldwin was involved in a tragic incident where a live round was unintentionally fired from the firearm he was holding. This resulted in the unfortunate death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and caused injuries to director Joel Souza. When questioned during a previous CNN interview, Baldwin refuted claims of pulling the trigger on the weapon.

Baldwin was no longer facing involuntary manslaughter charges earlier this year.

Morrissey and Lewis, special prosecutors from New Mexico, announced last month their intention to convene a grand jury to determine if Baldwin should be charged again in connection with the incident.

Armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed is being charged with involuntary manslaughter in the case. She has pleaded not guilty.

The assistant director of the films, David Halls, who was responsible for giving the firearm to Baldwin on the day of the incident, has already agreed to a plea deal earlier this year. Prosecutors stated that he is being charged with negligent use of a deadly weapon.

Production on the film resumed in April and was completed in May. .
