The Traitors US was renewed for season 3 on February 7, and host Alan Cumming now reveals that he thinks that businesswoman, writer, and television personality Martha Stewart would be a great contestant on the murder mystery competition series. The Traitors US season 2 began with 21 celebrities, including Traitors Phaedra Parks, Dan Gheesling, and Parvati Shallow, competing for the grand prize of up to $250,000. Halfway through the season, Kate Chastain returned to the show after her season 1 stint, and eventually became a Traitor after Dan and Parvati were banished from the game by the Faithfuls.
In an interview with ET, Alan revealed that he'd like to see Martha Stewart join The Traitors season 3. He gushed, "Wouldn't she be fantastic, 'cause she'd be a fantastic Traitor." Alan added that Martha has "such great skills" and is "so resourceful on things." Alan shared that he was on Martha’s show, making a Christmas wreath, and she said people should use vanilla pods from their vanilla trees. Alan asked what to do if someone didn't have them. Martha replied, "'Well then you ask your neighbor.' So, she'd be really good and really firm. And also, she's sort of a temptress."

In January, The Traitors became the most-watched unscripted streaming series in the U.S. Alan expressed his surprise at the show's success, stating, "I didn't expect it. I don't know... I never expected anyone to watch anything I do at all, actually. Isn't that terrible?" He continued by saying, "When you do something so random, so left field, you have such a great time doing it with lovely people and then everyone adores it. It's a win-win situation." Alan's involvement has been instrumental in the popularity of The Traitors across both seasons 1 and 2.

Martha would be an excellent contestant on The Traitors US, as Alan pointed out. She possesses the necessary qualities of resourcefulness and temptation, in addition to being 82 years old. Her age brings valuable life experience that could help her navigate the social dynamics of the game effectively. The show uniquely values older contestants, making Martha a strong contender. It is also a welcome change to see participants on The Traitors who offer diverse skill sets beyond gaming.
