Ahsoka Season 2 has been confirmed by Lucasfilm, and with that in mind, here's our wish list for the upcoming episodes of the Disney+ show. The announcement was made alongside another Star Wars project, The Mandalorian & Grogu, on January 9, 2024.
A day after, the studio gave more emphasis to the promotion of Ahsoka’s second season by making a formal announcement and sharing a Season 2 concept sketch on social media. The announcement hinted that "the story continues," sparking speculation about the direction of the show's narrative. Here are five things that Ahsoka Season 2 should definitely include.
5. Baylan Skoll’s return
Disney+
Opinions among Star Wars fans on the story and characters of Ahsoka Season 1 may be divided, but Ray Stevenson's portrayal of Baylan Skoll has received widespread approval. Despite being sidelined in the later episodes of Season 1, fans connected with this enigmatic ex-Jedi. The season finale hints at a bigger role for Baylan in Season 2, and while recasting Stevenson after his death in May 2023 will be challenging, it is crucial for the success of the upcoming season.
4. Fewer Clone Wars and Rebels callbacks
Disney+
The appeal of Star Wars lies in the appearance of characters from different parts of the distant galaxy in unexpected places. However, Ahsoka Season 1 relied too heavily on connections to Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, both of which were co-developed by showrunner Dave Filoni.
It was expected that a show centered around Ahsoka would have ties to Clone Wars and Rebels, considering her significant roles in both. However, Ahsoka Season 2 must focus on telling its own story rather than simply serving as an extension of Rebels Season 5.
3. Bigger stakes
Disney+
The first season of Ahsoka felt limited in scope, with much of the focus on potential events rather than actual occurrences. Now that the stage is set, the second season must deliver the consequences of a Thrawn-led Imperial remnant to truly showcase the challenges our heroes are facing.
Having Baylan meddle with a reality-shaping force (or should that be Force?) wouldn’t hurt, either…
2. More consistent lightsaber choreography
Disney+
The lightsaber combat in Ahsoka Season 1 is a mix of genuinely top-shelf moments and awkwardly executed scenes. For example, Rosario Dawson's use of Ahsoka's twin sabers to deflect blaster fire in “Part Eight: The Jedi, The Witch and The Warlord” is particularly awkward.
1. New mythology
Ahsoka Season 2 really needs to improve its lightsaber choreography. We understand that managing one lightsaber prop is challenging enough, let alone adding a second. However, the success of any Star Wars production centered on Jedi Knights heavily relies on the quality of their (laser)swordplay.
Disney+
Ahsoka Season 1 brought attention to various elements of Star Wars lore that casual fans may not have been familiar with, such as the Nightsisters and the World Between Worlds. Although it was entertaining to see these concepts reimagined, none of it significantly contributed to the expansion of the existing franchise canon. Ahsoka Season 2 must aim to rectify this.
The peak of Star Wars is when it introduces new worlds, creatures, and ideas. The first season of Ahsoka concludes with Ahsoka and her apprentice, Sabine Wren, entering an unknown universe - it's time to delve into it and discover something fresh. These are the five things that we must see in Ahsoka Season 2. For more Star Wars content, visit Dexerto.

Editor's P/S
As a passionate Star Wars fan, I am eagerly anticipating the second season of Ahsoka. The first season introduced us to new characters and explored Ahsoka's journey after the events of Star Wars Rebels. While it had its moments, I believe the second season has the potential to be even better.
One of the things I would like to see in Season 2 is a greater focus on Ahsoka's character development. The first season hinted at her inner struggles and conflicts, but I would like to see her delve deeper into these issues and come out stronger on the other side. Additionally, I hope we get to see more of her interactions with other characters, such as Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger.
