Chloe Bennet, known for her role as Daisy Johnson, aka Quake, in Agents of SHIELD, has addressed rumors of a possible return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Despite speculation surrounding the character's appearance, the show ended in 2020 with no clear indication of her future in the larger franchise. The series was a spinoff of the MCU, with ties to beloved character Agent Phil Coulson, but was never fully integrated into the film universe. Bennet recently spoke with Screen Rant about the possibility of reprising her role, expressing her fondness for the character but denying any imminent plans for her return.
Chloe Bennet expressed her openness to returning to her role as Daisy on SHIELD. She credited the show's dedicated fans for getting it on air in the first place and expressed her love for them. However, she clarified that she has not been approached or involved in any upcoming projects related to the show. Despite this, she stated that she would be thrilled to put on the suit again and play a character that is a big part of who she is.
Why The MCU Needs Quake & Other Agents of SHIELD Characters In Phase 5
Agents of SHIELD ran from 2013 to 2020, covering the events of the MCU from The Avengers in Phase 1 to Phase 3's Avengers: Infinity War and the aftermath of Thanos' snap. However, inconsistencies in storytelling resulted in Marvel Television being left out of the decision-making loop at Marvel Studios, causing the two storylines to diverge. Following tension between Feige and the head of Marvel Entertainment, Ike Perlmutter, Marvel Television was merged into Marvel Studios in December 2019. Sadly, despite its popularity, SHIELD was never acknowledged by the films and ended its run in August 2020.
Since Marvel Studios took full creative control of the film and television series, there has been slow progress in integrating beloved characters from previous television series into the MCU. However, there have been promising developments, such as Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock making an appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home in December 2021, and later donning the Daredevil uniform in the Disney+ series She-Hulk in August 2022. Cox will continue the role in a new Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, set to release in 2024. Although unconfirmed, there have also been hints of the possible return of Jessica Jones' Kristen Ritter and Luke Cage's Mike Colter, much to fans' delight.
