Hollywood actor Steve Buscemi was recently punched in the face while walking in New York City. The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is looking into the incident, which occurred on Wednesday and is part of a series of random attacks in the city.

Buscemi was attacked in Mid-Town Manhattan, a victim of a random act of violence in the city, according to his publicist's statement to CNN.

The statement mentioned that Buscemi is doing fine and is grateful for all the well wishes. However, he is deeply saddened by the unfortunate incident that has affected others while simply walking the streets of NY.

According to the NYPD, officers were called to the scene at 369 3rd Avenue just before noon on Wednesday, May 8.

Women in NYC share stories of getting punched ‘out of nowhere’ by men

Upon reaching the scene, the police were told that a 66-year-old man had been punched in the face by someone unknown.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived promptly and took the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/ Bellevue. He was in stable condition and received treatment for bruises, swelling, and bleeding in his left eye.

Police have stated that there have been no arrests made yet, and the investigation is still ongoing.

According to the police, the suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion. He was wearing a dark colored baseball style cap, a blue t-shirt, black pants, white sneakers, and carrying a bookbag.

The police department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

Buscemi, who was born in Brooklyn, New York, is famous for his roles in movies like “Reservoir Dogs” (1992) and “Fargo” (1996), as well as TV shows such as “Boardwalk Empire” and “30 Rock.”
