Aaron Ramsey: Wales Skipper and Ex-Arsenal Star Snubs Saudi Arabian Offer, Heads for Cardiff City Medical - The Riveting Twist You Can't Miss

Aaron Ramsey rejects Saudi Arabia move to return to Cardiff City, his childhood club Despite triggering a contract extension at Nice, the Wales captain and former Arsenal midfielder prioritizes being closer to his family Ramsey's decision highlights his strong bond with his roots

Aaron Ramsey is scheduled to have a medical examination with Cardiff City after turning down a highly profitable proposal from Saudi Arabia.

Despite activating a one-year extension at Nice for fulfilling a specified number of matches with the Ligue 1 team last season, the 32-year-old midfielder is on the verge of returning to the club where he began his career.

Ramsey, the former Arsenal star and current Wales captain, has openly expressed his wish to be closer to his family in Cardiff. As a result, he declined an opportunity to transfer to the Saudi Pro League. Speaking while on international duty last month, Ramsey acknowledged that this season has been personally fulfilling for him as he played numerous games and exhibited great football skills.

Being away from my family is the most challenging aspect of my situation. I have been separated from them, observing the kids' growth and feeling the weight of missed opportunities. It is undoubtedly a difficult experience for anyone. However, I hold onto the belief that we will ultimately be reunited and regain our togetherness.

Ramsey became Cardiff's youngest player in April 2007 at the age of 16 years and 124 days and helped them reach the 2008 FA Cup final.

He joined Arsenal for £4.8m later that summer and played in over 360 matches for the club. During his time in North London, he won the FA Cup three times and scored the winning goal in two finals. Ramsey, who has represented his country 82 times and had a short loan spell at Cardiff in 2011, transferred to Juventus in 2019. He spent the latter half of the 2021-22 season at Rangers before moving to Nice last summer.
