Guzman, 37, shared exclusively with We that the main goal was to demonstrate that the bond between Buck and Eddie will not only endure but also strengthen. "Because now we’ve unveiled this new vulnerable side of Buck, and last season we got to unveil this new side vulnerable side of Eddie. So the connection is just that much more muy symptico."

In the episode "You Don't Know Me" of the ABC series aired on Thursday, April 11, Buck (Oliver Stark) struggles to tell Eddie (Guzman) about his bisexuality. Years ago, a friend of mine came out to me and went through a personal evolution. I saw a similar journey in this scene. It was like witnessing someone being incredibly brave in a situation where they didn't know how it would be received.

Guzman pointed out that Eddie's main aim is to create a "safe space" for Buck to feel accepted and understood. At the same time, he wanted to add an element of surprise, considering Buck's history of dating women on the show.

"I was excited to see how Buck's coming out would shake things up. All we've seen so far is a guy who enjoys dating around and constantly has a new girlfriend every few months," he explained. "There were so many interesting angles to explore and have fun with."
