9-1-1 star Jennifer Love Hewitt is the genius behind the upcoming episode set at the Bachelor Mansion, which just makes us love her even more.

Showrunner Tim Minear shared in an interview with Entertainment Weekly published on Saturday, March 30, that the idea for the crossover episode was sparked by a call from Jennifer Love Hewitt. She had attended a Bachelor finale and thought it would be fantastic if the 118 responded to a call at the Bachelor mansion.

In the upcoming episode of 9-1-1 on Thursday, April 4, host Jesse Palmer from The Bachelor will make a guest appearance. The official promo reveals that a contestant on the show has accidentally superglued herself to the driveway in front of the house. Actor Bachelor Joey Graziadei portrays himself in the scene, displaying concern as Palmer contacts the paramedics.

In the teaser, the 9-1-1 operators Maddie (Hewitt) and Josh (Bryan Safi) answer the call. After handling the emergency and sending help, they excitedly chat and share their excitement with each other.

Minear, 60, shared that he contacted ABC, the network behind popular shows like 9-1-1 and The Bachelor, to present Hewitt's idea. Hewitt, 45, a devoted fan of The Bachelor franchise, even attended the Golden Bachelor "After the Final Rose" special in December 2023.

In a conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Minear mentioned, "I reached out to ABC and they connected us with The Bachelor team. We had a Zoom meeting where we discussed the potential of the concept. The Bachelor team was incredibly supportive and offered to guide us through the process of creating the show, from production to filming."

He explained that the Bachelor crew was brought in to shoot the first part of the case, to give it a true Bachelor feel. The storyline then transitions into the 9-1-1 world when a call to 9-1-1 is made. This idea was seen as a great one.

While Palmer and Graziadei, both 28, will be joining the 9-1-1 crew, the remaining contestants will be portrayed by actors. In real life, Graziadei's season concluded on Monday, March 25, with his engagement to Kelsey Anderson.

"What Is the Best Reality Franchise of All Time?

Graziadei recently shared with us his thoughts on Kelsey, recalling a moment in Montreal where they both realized their true feelings for each other. Despite not exchanging words at the time, Graziadei held back his emotions until he felt ready to express them. Both he and Kelsey agreed that their feelings for each other began to grow during their time in Montreal."

9-1-1 airs on ABC Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET.
