Behavior Interactive announced that Alan Wake will be joining Dead By Daylight on January 30 as the latest playable Survivor. Currently, he is available in a time-limited public test server on Steam.
In a new trailer, Alan Wake is seen typing on his typewriter in the Dark Place. As he attempts to escape, he inadvertently writes himself into the universe of Dead by Daylight and into the clutches of The Entity, the game's cosmic representation of evil.
As a Survivor, Alan Wake possesses various perks that can benefit him in different ways. Champion of Light gives him a 50% Haste boost when he's holding a flashlight, and successfully blinding a Killer also inflicts a 20% Hindered status for six seconds. His Boon, Illumination, allows Survivors within its totem range to see the aura of all chests and generators in blue. Lastly, Deadline activates when he's injured, causing Skill Checks to appear more frequently when repairing or healing, and in random places, while also halving the penalty for missing Skill Checks.
Dead By Daylight has had previous horror game crossovers, including with Silent Hill's Pyramid Head and Resident Evil. Additionally, Alan Wake 2, the first full horror game in the series, was listed as one of Our Website's top 10 best games of 2023.
Editor's P/S
As a long-time fan of both Alan Wake and Dead by Daylight, I am incredibly excited about this crossover. Alan Wake is a complex and well-developed character, and I can't wait to see how he interacts with the other Survivors and Killers in the Dead by Daylight universe. The new perks that he brings to the game are also very interesting, and I think they will add a lot of depth to the gameplay.
I also appreciate the fact that Behavior Interactive is continuing to support Dead by Daylight with new content. The game has been out for several years now, but it still feels fresh and exciting. The developers are constantly adding new characters, maps, and game modes, and they are always looking for ways to improve the game. I am confident that Dead by Daylight will continue to be one of the most popular horror games for many years to come.
