The producer of Zootopia 2 has recently shared exciting details about the highly anticipated sequel, promising an even better experience than the first film. Back in 2016, Zootopia captivated audiences worldwide with its captivating buddy cop story, centered around the unlikely bond between a rabbit and a fox.
Disney's foray into addressing police relations and racism in a child-friendly manner involved anthropomorphic animals residing in a bustling and diverse city. The movie garnered immense recognition, clinching the coveted Best Animated Feature award at the Oscars. Consequently, a sequel was officially approved in early 2023. Now, fans have been provided with an update regarding the progress of the film and the aspirations of the individuals working behind the scenes.
Zootopia 2 producer is confident the sequel will beat the original
Brad Simonsen, the producer of Zooptopia, recently chatted with The Direct about his upcoming Disney Animated short Once Upon a Studio.
When discussing his projects, Simonsen provided an update on Zootopia 2 and shared his sentiments regarding the sequel's connection to the original.
"We are all extremely thrilled about it. Being involved in the first movie's production was truly one of the most incredible experiences of my life," Simonsen expressed. "I am confident that this upcoming sequel will surpass the first one, taking it to a higher level of excellence. So, we are incredibly excited about this project."
The first Zootopia ended with Nick Wilde, a former con-man fox, joining the Zooptopia police force after solving the movie’s big case with his partner Judy Hopps.
Due to the diverse range of climates and animal inhabitants in Zootopia, the sequel could feature Nick and Judy as they navigate a previously unexplored area of the city, tackling another intriguing case.
