Zahara Marley Jolie, daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, proudly announced her membership in the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. In a video published by Essence on November 15, the 18-year-old introduced herself as "Zahara Marley Jolie" and represented herself as the seventh member of her sorority line hailing from the Golden State, Los Angeles, California.
Zahara, alongside her sorority sisters, stood in a line during the video presentation at Spelman College's Mu Pi chapter in Atlanta. Dressed in black dresses, they eagerly awaited their turn to dance and introduce themselves to the audience.
As Zahara begins her next phase of college life, an exclusive source reveals that she fully understands the immense privilege of joining AKA. The sorority boasts renowned alumni like Vice President Kamala Harris, Brandy, Wanda Sykes, and Yvette Nicole Brown.
The teenager's transition to life at Spelman has been "extremely smooth," according to an insider. Zahara has been living on the Spelman campus since last fall, allowing her to adapt to college life over the past year. Making friends and fitting in with her fellow students has never been an issue for her.
According to the insider, it is mentioned that Zahara and her mother, who is 48 years old, share a strong bond and are "extremely close". Furthermore, Zahara intends to celebrate the holidays alongside her mother and siblings.
Zahara joined the HBCU in 2022 and since then, Jolie has made multiple visits to see her daughter. The actress also provided assistance during Zahara's dorm move-in. Jolie shared an Instagram post in late July, captioned, "Zahara with her Spelman sisters! Congratulations to all the new students starting this year. It's a great honor to have a family member as a new Spelman girl in such a special place."
Jolie reminisced on the poignant and significant moment while accompanying her daughter, as she dropped her off. In a video shared by Darryl Holloman, the school's vice president of student affairs, Jolie expressed, "If I delve into today's emotions, tears might become inevitable. I haven't shed any tears just yet, so hopefully I can maintain composure."
Following Zahara's settling into her new environment, Jolie revisited Spelman two months later to cherish precious moments with her daughter during the homecoming weekend. Observers caught a glimpse of the mother-daughter duo strolling together on campus.
Pitt has expressed his admiration for Zahara’s achievements, stating, "I am incredibly proud of her. She possesses great intelligence and will thrive even further during her college years. This is an exciting and wonderful moment for her to carve her own path and pursue her passions. I am filled with pride."
Besides Zahara, Pitt and Jolie, who ended their relationship in 2016 after being together for over ten years, are also the proud parents of Maddox, 22, Pax, 19, Shiloh, 17, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 15.
Following their separation, Jolie accused Pitt of domestic violence in legal documents related to a disagreement over the sale of their former winery, Château Miraval. She claimed that an incident occurred onboard their family's plane in 2016, leading her to file for divorce. According to her allegations, Pitt forcefully grabbed her shoulders, shook her, and then pushed her into a bathroom wall following a verbal argument about their children.
Pitt underwent an investigation in 2016 soon after the reported incident. Subsequently, both the FBI and Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services absolved him of any wrongdoing. A trusted individual, with proximity to Pitt, informed Us that Jolie's accusations were entirely false. This source further noted, "[Angelina] persists in revisiting, altering, and fabricating her account of an incident that transpired six years ago, incorporating entirely untrue details whenever her desires remain unmet. Her narrative is consistently evolving."
