Throughout the progression of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, both devoted anime viewers and manga enthusiasts have developed a stronger affection for the esteemed Shibuya Incident arc. Meticulously enhancing the original material, MAPPA Studios has crafted a truly captivating and enthralling television anime season.
The recent inclusion of Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 has garnered significant praise from fans, a direct consequence of Jogo, Nanako, and Mimiko Hasaba's interference. By presenting Sukuna's host, Yuji Itadori, with a substantial amount of Sukuna's fingers all at once, the young boy loses control, succumbing to the overwhelmingly powerful King of Curses.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2’s Sukuna return is thankfully not a perpetual one, but does last for some time
When will Yuji return? Explained
In Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, Sukuna's possession of Yuji Itadori is not everlasting and comes to a clear conclusion. This possession begins in the fifteenth episode of the second season, precisely at 10:51 PM in the world of the series.
At approximately 11:07 PM, Sukuna proceeds to another location within Shibuya and launches a devastating attack on a specific enemy. To avoid spoilers, details about the attack and the targeted enemy will not be disclosed.
Shortly after, Sukuna moves to another area in Shibuya at around 11:14 PM in the series timeline. Here, he willingly relinquishes control to Yuji Itadori, marking his return in season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen. It is important to note that Sukuna voluntarily allows Yuji to regain control, rather than Yuji forcefully taking over after his loss of control for approximately 23 minutes.
Although the duration of Sukuna's possession of Yuji is clearly defined in the series' timeline, it is uncertain how long fans will have to wait to see the protagonist reunite. Similarly, it is challenging to provide a definitive answer because MAPPA, the production studio, may incorporate anime-original scenes or restructure certain events to enhance the adaptation.
Moving forward, Sukuna takes possession of Yuji from chapters 112 to 120 in the manga, but chapter 112 has already been fully adapted. This means that there are eight chapters remaining of Sukuna's possession for the anime to cover. Throughout Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, MAPPA Studios has consistently adapted three chapters per episode.
Therefore, if MAPPA follows the original order of events, it is anticipated that Yuji will make his comeback in the 18th episode of the second season. However, if MAPPA decides to rearrange certain events, Yuji's return may be delayed but should still occur no later than the 19th episode. In simpler terms, fans can expect to see Yuji back in the series within approximately a month.

As an enthusiastic fan of Jujutsu Kaisen, I am thrilled to witness the return of Yuji Itadori in season 2. The possession arc has been a captivating rollercoaster ride, and I couldn't wait to see how the story would unfold. The anime adaptation by MAPPA Studios has been nothing short of exceptional, staying true to the essence of the manga while elevating it with stunning visuals and animation.
Sukuna's possession of Yuji was a pivotal moment in the series, and the anime did an incredible job of portraying the internal struggle and conflict within Yuji. The voice acting, music, and animation combined to create a truly immersive and emotionally charged experience. The limited duration of Sukuna's possession added a sense of urgency and tension to the narrative, making every moment feel significant.
