Instead of receiving free Games with Gold games, subscribers will have access to a curated collection of Game Pass titles. In August 2023, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can anticipate the arrival of two highly anticipated day one releases: The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and RPG Sea of Stars. Additionally, exciting additions like Celeste and the console version of Everspace 2 will be included.
Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass subscription service has once again been updated, this time incorporating the highly anticipated day one game, Venba. Despite the typically slow month of July for the gaming industry, Xbox Game Pass subscribers have had an exciting time with various updates and additions throughout the month. In particular, July 2023 witnessed the introduction of new game releases and even the announcement of a new Game Pass tier. As we approach September, it is worth noting that Xbox Live Gold will be discontinued and replaced by Xbox Game Pass Core. Essentially, Xbox Game Pass Core serves as a continuation of Xbox Live Gold, but with a slight change: the free Games with Gold games will be replaced with a curated selection of Game Pass titles.
For those interested in playing day one Xbox Game Pass games, it is advisable to subscribe to the Console, PC, or Ultimate tiers of Xbox Game Pass. By signing up for one of these Game Pass tiers, players will have access to play Venba, a narrative cooking game, on its release day. Venba has garnered predominantly positive reviews, currently holding an overall rating of 81. As a result, Xbox Game Pass subscribers should definitely consider giving it a try. While there may be exceptions, it is generally a safe assumption that games will remain on Xbox Game Pass for at least a year after their initial addition.
In July 2023, Xbox Game Pass not only added Venba as a day one game, but also Capcom's Exoprimal, a new dinosaur game. Subscribers also had access to early access game Techtonica. Excitingly, there are more day one Xbox Game Pass games coming in August.
Microsoft has not yet announced all the new games for August 2023, but fans can anticipate two brand-new day one releases: The Texas Chain Saw Massacre on August 18 and RPG Sea of Stars on August 29. Additionally, two other games have been confirmed for August 2023.
In addition to the new day one games releasing in August 2023, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can anticipate the arrival of the critically acclaimed Celeste on August 1. Moreover, the console version of Everspace 2 will be available on August 15. While PC Game Pass users have had access to Everspace 2 for several months, this marks the inaugural opportunity for Game Pass subscribers on console to enjoy the game as part of their subscription.
