Get ready, because the first gameplay footage for Bethesda's Indiana Jones game will be revealed next week as part of a new Xbox Developer Direct. Microsoft is teasing "over 10 minutes of game and developer insights" for Indiana Jones, developed by MachineGames, the team behind Wolfenstein: The New Order. The Developer Direct will also showcase how players will embody the iconic movie character in the game. Todd Howard of Bethesda has described the Indiana Jones game as "a mash-up" and has confirmed that it will be an Xbox and PC exclusive.

Developer Obsidian will present the first in-depth look at the gameplay experience for Avowed, a Skyrim-like RPG set to release this year and taking place in the same world as Pillars of Eternity. Also featured at the Developer Direct will be Ara: History Untold from Oxide Games, and Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2. Microsoft has previously showcased gameplay footage for Ara at Gamescom 2023 and recently revealed a new gameplay trailer for Hellblade 2 at The Game Awards.

Following the event, Microsoft announced that there will be a presentation for The Elder Scrolls Online, which will offer details on the next significant update for the MMO. The Developer Direct has outlined a 2024 release timeline for all titles except for Indiana Jones, for which no release window has been specified.

Editor's P/S

As a Gen Z fan, I am thrilled about the upcoming Xbox Developer Direct event on January 18th. The prospect of getting the first gameplay footage for Bethesda's Indiana Jones game is incredibly exciting. I've been a fan of the Indiana Jones movies since I was a kid, and I can't wait to see how MachineGames brings the iconic character to life in a video game. The fact that it will be an Xbox and PC exclusive makes it even more special.

I'm also looking forward to seeing more of Avowed, Obsidian's upcoming Skyrim-like RPG. I've been following the development of this game for a while now, and I'm eager to see how it shapes up. The fact that it's set in the same world as Pillars of Eternity is also very intriguing, as I'm a big fan of that series. Overall, I think the Xbox Developer Direct has a lot to offer Gen Z fans like me, and I can't wait to see what Microsoft has in store for us.
