Created by Daisuke Ashihara, World Trigger is a Japanese Shounen manga that was first serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump from February 2013 to November 2018, before transferring to Jump Square in December 2018. The series has been adapted into three anime seasons, with the most recent season released in Fall 2021.

The voice actors of Yumma Kuga (Tomo Muranaka), Osamu Mikumo (Yuuki Kaji), Masataka Ninomiya (Junichi Suwabe), and Yuzuru Ema (Yuuko Sanpei) presented the Jump Festa 2024 World Trigger Blue Stage, where they shared new festival details with fans. The segment started with a Q&A session and also included birthday celebrations for voice actor Tomo Muranaka, whose birthday was on Friday, December 15th.
The manga series' new project was announced by the cast members following the successful festival in 2022 and 2023. The series is set to make a return with "World Trigger Festival 2024" on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at Tokyo Dome City Hall. The event will feature day and night performances and will also be accessible for online streaming.
The event will feature appearances from voice cast members including Tomo Muranaka (Yumma Kuga), Yuuki Kaji (Osamu Mikumo), Nao Tamura (Chika Amatori), and others. Additionally, alongside the festival, the Blue Stage has also officially announced the upcoming production of a stage drama based on the series. Marvelous revealed on Saturday, December 16, 2023, that the popular manga series created by Daisuke Ashihara will be receiving its fourth stage play. The latest production will focus on the Galopoula Invasion Arc.
Scheduled to run in Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka during October and November 2024, the stage play will feature Keisuke Ueda and Takuya Mizoguchi in the roles of Yuuma Kuga and Osamu Mikumo, respectively, as confirmed in a brief message from the actors themselves.
