World of Warcraft has recently dropped a hint about the comeback of a beloved character from the Legion and Battle for Azeroth eras. The clue was discovered within a cutscene added in the latest content update, Fractures in Time.

Note: This article contains SPOILERS for World of Warcraft's Fractures in Time update.

World of Warcraft recently launched Patch 10.1.5, known as Fractures in Time. The latest update introduced the highly anticipated megadungeon, Dawn of the Infinite. In this dungeon, players face a formidable alliance between the Infinite Dragonflight and Iridikron, the Primal Incarnate of earth. Their ultimate goal is to manipulate the timeline and corrupt Nozdormu, transforming him into Murozond.

Upon completing the dungeon, players are treated to a captivating post-dungeon cutscene featuring Iridikron and Chromie. Although the Infinite Dragonflight is thwarted by players, Iridikron successfully harnesses the essence of Galakrond, the mightiest dragon in World of Warcraft. He escapes through a void portal, leaving behind a mysterious female elf silhouette discernible in the lower right corner of the portal. Due to her resemblance and connection to the void, many players speculate that this enigmatic figure is Xal’atath.

In Legion, the Shadow Priest Artifact weapon, known as Xal'atath or the Blade of the Black Empire, housed a powerful void entity. There are speculations that this entity may be the fifth Old God in World of Warcraft. The weapon played a significant role in Battle for Azeroth, where the entity was released and took control of a Blood Elf woman. Now free, Xal'atath left through a void portal, promising to meet the champion of Azeroth again in the future. If this entity is indeed Xal'atath, that day may be approaching soon.

Fans are excited about the possibility of Iridikron collaborating with Xal'atath. Many adore Xal'atath's alluring voice and questionable motives, often giving her endearing nicknames like "Knaifu," "Knife Wife," and "Baeblade." On the other hand, Iridikron is regarded by many World of Warcraft enthusiasts as one of the game's best villains in recent memory, if not in its entire history. The prospect of facing both of these beloved villains simultaneously could be a dream come true for their fans.

Until the true identity of the enigmatic figure is unveiled, players cannot definitively confirm that it was Xal'atath. There exists the possibility that it could have been Queen Azshara, the elven embodiment also known for her manipulation of the void in World of Warcraft, or even a completely new character. Regardless, it is evident that Iridikron's machinations are paving the way for a significant storyline revolving around the void, which has left fans eagerly anticipating where the Primalists' mastermind will appear next. World of Warcraft is currently accessible for PC users.
