During the "TalkShopLive" event over the weekend, Pinkett Smith joined her mother Adrienne Banfield Norris to discuss her book.
Norris expressed her desire to address the negativity directed towards her daughter, aiming to alleviate the "vitriol."
"I simply want to emphasize that the decision to separate was a mutual choice made by both of you," Norris remarked. "Both of you willingly ended your relationship. There was no betrayal on your part towards Will." In a July 2020 episode of her talk show "Red Table Talk," Pinkett Smith openly admitted to having been involved with singer August Alsina during a challenging period in her marriage.
Pinkett Smith confirmed what her mother said.
"I just need people to know ok I did not cheat on Will Smith," she said. "No matter how sad he looked at that table."
Pinkett Smith expressed that she has achieved a state of both tranquility and joy. She shared about the period of separation she and Will went through and how it allowed them to individually and collectively embark on personal growth.
