In his "official statement," shared on Instagram on October 17, the 55-year-old actor casually stated, "I have something to share with you... my opinion." In a recent interview on the "On Purpose with Jay Shetty" podcast, Pinkett Smith, 52, briefly mentioned that Smith had differing thoughts about her book. Reading aloud a letter from Smith, she shared, "I have just finished Worthy and it is truly astonishing. Despite spending the majority of my life beside you, I found myself surprised, moved, and emotionally on a rollercoaster. My reactions ranged from laughter to inspiration to heartbreak. It was quite an experience."

The pair got married in 1997, but Pinkett Smith revealed earlier this month that they quietly separated in 2016.

Jada Pinkett Smith gained attention in 2020 when news broke about her involvement with August Alsina, famously referred to as an "entanglement." While initially denying any romantic connection with Alsina, the actress, known for her role in Gotham, has now admitted to being involved with him intimately during a period when she and Smith were separated.

"We are deeply committed to repairing our relationship," she stated on Monday. "I must embrace his humanity and accept him as he is. He embraces my own humanity and we aspire to love one another unconditionally."

During her recent appearance on the "On Purpose" podcast on Monday, she expressed, "I believe that one of the crucial elements that helped us was the absence of secrets between Will and me. The same applied to my children and me."

She added, “The fact that my family was absolutely aware of the entire journey, it was a saving grace for me.”
