Is Lindsay Lohan part of the new Mean Girls musical movie, which features a mix of familiar and fresh faces? Unlike "Fetch," Mean Girls is definitely happening, so it's no surprise that the 2018 Broadway musical is getting the movie treatment.
The synopsis of the new movie describes how new student Cady Heron is embraced by the popular Plastics group, led by Regina George. When Cady makes the mistake of falling for Regina's ex-boyfriend, she becomes a target for their manipulation and scheming. However, as Cady was originally brought to life by Lindsay Lohan in 2004, fans may wonder if the iconic actress will make an appearance in this new version.
Does Lindsay Lohan appear in Mean Girls 2024?
Yes, she does. Lindsay Lohan makes a cameo as the judge for the Mathlete tournament near the end of the new Mean Girls movie.
As the movie approaches its climax, the majority of the school prepares for the Spring Fling Formal, while Cady and the other mathletes participate in a tournament against another school. Surprisingly, Lohan is the one asking the questions and assessing the answers. The actor delivers several humorous lines and there are playful nods to the original 2004 movie. When both schools tie at the tournament, Lohan's character makes a self-referential remark about the rare occurrence, alluding to her own previous competition.
The first film was a major career boost for the actor at the time, and to this day it remains one of her most iconic roles.
Do other 2004 Mean Girls actors appear?
None of the other original stars are appearing in the new Mean Girls movie, including Rachel McAdams (Regina), Amanda Seyfreid (Karen), Lacey Chabert (Gretchen), Daniel Franzese (Damien), and Lizzy Caplan (Janice Ian). Despite this, some of the cast, most notably the old Plastics (excluding McAdams), reunited for a commercial for Black Friday Walmart deals last year. With the 20th anniversary of the original movie approaching, we may see more from them this year.

Mean Girls will be available in US cinemas on January 12, and UK cinemas on January 17.
Editor's P/S
As a passionate fan of the original Mean Girls movie, I was thrilled to hear about the upcoming musical movie. The news that Lindsay Lohan will make a cameo appearance as the judge for the Mathlete tournament is incredibly exciting. It's great to see that the filmmakers are acknowledging the impact of the original movie and paying homage to it by bringing back one of its most iconic stars. Lohan's cameo is sure to be a nostalgic moment for fans and a reminder of why the original movie was so beloved.
While it's disappointing that none of the other original stars will be appearing in the new movie, I understand the decision to focus on a new generation of characters. It will be interesting to see how the filmmakers update the story for a modern audience while still staying true to the spirit of the original. I'm hopeful that the new movie will capture the same magic as the original and introduce a new generation of fans to the world of Mean Girls.
