Loki Season 2 didn’t have a post-credits scene for a good reason
The reason why Loki Season 2 did not feature a post-credits scene was because there was no need for it to provide any further hints or teases. The final episode served as a conclusive ending for Loki's narrative, rather than setting up future series or films.
Marvel's impact on the way people consume movies and TV shows cannot be overstated. Viewers have developed a conditioned response to watch the credits until the very end in anticipation of a post-credit scene that may reveal what's to come.
Avengers: Endgame, unlike Loki's second season, broke with tradition and did not include any post-credits scenes. This decision was significant because Endgame not only marked the conclusion of the Infinity Saga, but it was also a culmination of the audience's emotional connection to the MCU. The filmmakers believed that the movie itself was enough to ensure continued interest from viewers, without the need for additional promotional scenes. Joe Russo explained in an interview with USA Today that the name "Endgame" was chosen purposefully, as it signified the definitive ending of that chapter in the Marvel universe. He also emphasized that while there would be a future for the MCU, it was not their responsibility to determine it.
Loki finds himself in a similar situation. According to Tom Hiddleston, the finale serves as a conclusion not only to Season 2, but also to Season 1, six films, 12 episodes, and 14 years of his life. Head writer Eric Martin further explains that they approached the show as if it were two halves of a book, with Season 1 being the first half and Season 2 closing the book on Loki and the TVA.
There was no need for an epilogue or any reference to future projects in the MCU, as it would have diminished the emotional impact of the climax. This finale truly marks the end for Loki, although it is expected that he will make a return in the future, possibly in Secret Wars. It is only fitting that the franchise's best character has a definitive ending in this particular story.

As a passionate fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), I have mixed feelings about the decision to omit a post-credits scene in the season finale of Loki. On the one hand, I understand the reasoning behind it. The finale was emotionally satisfying and conclusive, and adding a post-credits scene might have detracted from that. On the other hand, I can't help but feel a little disappointed. I've become so accustomed to post-credits scenes in MCU movies and TV shows that their absence feels a bit like a letdown.
Overall, I think it was the right decision to forgo a post-credits scene in the Loki finale. The episode was strong enough on its own, and didn't need an extra scene to set up future stories. That said, I hope that doesn't mean we'll never see Loki again. He's one of my favorite characters in the MCU, and I'd love to see him return in some form or another.
