Lala Kent and Stassi Schroeder have no concerns about their daughters eventually watching Vanderpump Rules. Kent, 32, expressed her lack of worry during an episode of Schroeder's podcast, "Straight Up With Stassi." Kent stated that she wants her daughter, Ocean, who is 2 years old and shares with her ex-fiancé Randall Emmett, to see the show and understand that her mom has had her own experiences and will never judge her. Kent wants her daughter to feel safe and supported.
Schroeder, who is 35 years old, mentioned that she hopes her 2-year-old daughter, Hartford, will someday view Vanderpump Rules as a lesson on what not to do.
"I hope our mistakes serve as a learning experience," Schroeder, who is married to Beau Clark, shared. "I want Hartford to watch Vanderpump Rules and feel a sense of discomfort and disbelief, saying, 'Mom, you were really unkind. That's not acceptable.' I truly hope that our children observe and absorb the message."

In Kent's view, Ocean and Hartford will likely desire a more sheltered life because they will eventually stumble upon their mothers' exploits during their youth on television. "There will come a day when she inevitably uncovers my past actions," Kent reasoned. "I anticipate that our children, upon seeing those incidents, will feel a great deal of embarrassment and will purposefully pursue the opposite path."
The duo's conversation was a part of a longer discussion on mom-shaming, a topic they both have been vocal about. Earlier this month, Kent responded to social media trolls who criticized a recent Instagram post of hers. The post included a risqué swimsuit photo taken after a snapshot of Ocean.
"I'm tired of the mom shaming from some of you women," Kent expressed through her Instagram Story on Thursday, July 13. "As a parent who works full time and rarely has a moment for myself, I simply wanted to feel good and capture a moment on the 4th of July. Any response that is not supportive is unwelcome."
Kent confronted Schroeder about the controversy, emphasizing once more that Ocean was not present when her mom displayed her body.
"I disagree with the notion that becoming a mother means conforming to societal norms," Kent asserted. "Their treatment towards me suggests that being a mother restricts certain behaviors. But there will come a time when my daughter grows up and engages in activities like sex or maybe even smoking weed. She won't remain a small, innocent child forever."
Schroeder, who is currently pregnant with her second child, a baby boy, expressed that Kent's confidence is a positive influence on Ocean. "You're demonstrating to your daughter how to love your body, and that is extremely valuable," Schroder told her former colleague.
Kent, on the other hand, mentioned that she simply wanted a moment to appreciate herself. "I was busy taking adorable pictures of the children all day long on the 4th of July!" she laughed. "It was finally my turn. I rarely get cute pictures. Let me indulge in my self-love for a few seconds."
