Israel plans to initiate daily four-hour pauses in military operations in the Northern Gaza regions, aiming to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged enclave and enable the safe departure of civilians.
According to John Kirby, spokesperson for the National Security Council, Israel will inform about the pauses three hours in advance. Kirby stated that, as per information received from the Israelis, there will be no military operations in these areas throughout the entire duration of the pause, and this process is commencing today. He described it as a positive move.
"We have consistently appealed to the Israelis to prioritize the protection of civilians and take all necessary measures to decrease these casualties," emphasized Kirby. He emphasized that these efforts would allow civilians to safely relocate and seek refuge for a limited time period.
Additionally, he stated that this approach would create periodic opportunities for the secure release of individuals being held hostage by Hamas.
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
