In 2004, MTV released Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, a reality show that explored the lives of Stephen Colletti, Lauren Conrad, Kristin Cavallari, Lo Bosworth, and other high schoolers. Originally intended to be a high school drama, the show had to change its focus due to restrictions on filming inside the actual high school. As a result, it shifted its focus to the cast's personal lives at home.
Conrad initially served as the narrator in the first season, with the primary focus being on a love triangle involving herself, Cavallari, and Colletti. In the second season, Conrad ventured off to college, and Cavallari assumed the role of the narrator. Upon the conclusion of her season, a new group was introduced, but unfortunately, it failed to live up to the excitement generated by the original cast of the series.

‘Laguna Beach’ Cast: Where Are They Now?
One year after the success of Fox's The O.C., MTV took a look at the actual town, launching Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County in 2004.
The reality show centered around the personal lives of Stephen Colletti, Lauren Conrad, Kristin Cavallari, Lo Bosworth, and others when they were high school students. Originally intended to be a high school drama, the show faced restrictions from filming within the actual high school, leading to a shift in focus to the cast's home life.
Conrad assumed the role of the narrator in the first season, with the central storyline revolving around a love triangle involving herself, Cavallari, and Colletti. In the second season, Conrad left for college and Cavallari took over as the narrator. However, when Cavallari's season ended, a new group of cast members was introduced, but failed to capture the same allure as the original cast of the series.
