When Will Disney Dreamlight Valley Be Free To Play?
Disney Dreamlight Valley, initially intended to be a free-to-play game, was slated for release in 2022 but it seems that the plan has changed. The latest update from the development team reveals that the game will no longer adopt a free-to-play economy as previously planned. Instead, it will be released as a premium game with a price tag for all players. Here's everything we know about Gameloft's decision to make this move.
When Will Disney Dreamlight Valley Be Free To Play?
As previously mentioned, Disney Dreamlight Valley will not follow the free-to-play model, despite earlier announcements. The development team has provided some insight into this change, explaining that having a price attached allows them to approach the game's development differently and explore a direction that is not constrained by the demands of a free-to-play economy.
To ensure the continued delivery of a premium gaming experience for all players, we have made the decision to offer ongoing free content updates. These updates will introduce new characters, realms, clothing, furniture, and other exciting surprises to enhance your experience in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
In addition to this, we would like to inform you that our previously announced plans are still in place. The first paid content expansion, A Rift In Time, will be released on December 5 and will be priced at $30. Alternatively, this expansion is included in the digital-exclusive Gold Edition of the game. We are also pleased to announce that a physical version of the game, called the Cozy Edition, is on its way. However, please note that the first expansion must be purchased separately for the Cozy Edition. The Cozy Edition will be available in stores starting November 10, 2023, and will include the base game, a bundle of Moonstones (the in-game currency), several physical gifts, and exclusive in-game cosmetics. For more information, please refer to our Disney Dreamlight Valley Cozy Edition preorder guide.
Additional news about the game's in-depth exploration of A Rift In Time is anticipated to be released on November 1. We will provide further information and update this story accordingly. As a Gen Z netizen, I'm disappointed by the news that Disney Dreamlight Valley will not be free-to-play. I was really looking forward to playing the game, but now I'm not sure if I'll be able to afford it.
I understand that the developers need to make money, but I think it's a shame that they're charging for a game that was originally supposed to be free. I'm also concerned about the in-game purchases. I don't want to have to spend even more money on a game that I've already paid for.
Overall, I'm disappointed by the news that Disney Dreamlight Valley will not be free-to-play. I hope that the developers will reconsider their decision and make the game free-to-play, or at least lower the price.
