When Will Disney Dreamlight Valley Be Free To Play?
Contrary to previous announcements, Disney Dreamlight Valley will not be a free-to-play game. Gameloft has explained that they made this decision in order to have more flexibility in developing the game and to go in a different direction than what a free-to-play model would dictate.
By making this choice, Disney Dreamlight Valley ensures that it will continue to provide players with a premium gaming experience. Our commitment to delivering free content updates remains unchanged, as we strive to constantly add new characters, realms, clothing, furniture, and other surprises to enhance your Valley.
In addition to this, our previously announced plans will proceed as planned. This includes the release of the first paid content expansion, A Rift In Time, which will be available on December 5th for $30. This expansion can also be obtained by purchasing the game's digital-exclusive Gold Edition. We are also excited to announce the upcoming release of a physical version of the game called the Cozy Edition. Please note that the purchase of the first expansion is required separately for the Cozy Edition. The Cozy Edition will be available in stores starting November 10, 2023, and includes the base game, a bundle of Moonstones (the in-game currency), physical gifts, and exclusive in-game cosmetics. For more information, please refer to our Disney Dreamlight Valley Cozy Edition preorder guide.
We will update this story with more details after the video deep dive into A Rift In Time on November 1. If you are currently playing or planning to explore the valley soon, make sure to check out our comprehensive Disney Dreamlight Valley guides hub.
Editor's P/S
As an enthusiastic fan of Disney Dreamlight Valley, I am both excited and disappointed by the news that the game will no longer be available as a free-to-play title. On one hand, I understand Gameloft's decision to change their plans in order to have more flexibility in developing the game and to go in a different direction than what a free-to-play model would dictate. This gives me hope that the game will continue to receive regular updates and new content, ensuring that players will have a premium gaming experience.
On the other hand, I am disappointed that the game will no longer be free-to-play, as this may make it inaccessible to some players who may not be able to afford the purchase price. I hope that Gameloft will consider offering different pricing options or discounts to make the game more accessible to a wider audience.
Overall, I am still excited for the future of Disney Dreamlight Valley and I am looking forward to seeing what new content and features the game will offer in the future. I hope that Gameloft will continue to listen to player feedback and make the game the best it can be.
