In contrast to the expectation of a grand celebration or an exorbitant display of opulence, Britain's monarch celebrated his 75th birthday on Tuesday in a modest manner, following his mother's tradition. Rather than indulging in lavish festivities, he dedicated himself to his duties.

The Kings primary focus is public service, a theme King Charles III has adopted from the beginning of his reign. The highlight of the monarchs' birthday plans this week was the launch of his new Coronation Food Project. This initiative aims to address both food poverty and waste.

The goal of the program is to establish distribution hubs to efficiently distribute surplus food to areas in need during the current cost of living crisis.

To commemorate his special day, Charles celebrated his birthday by visiting a surplus food distribution center located near London. Queen Camilla accompanied him as they aimed to witness how food waste can be repurposed for the benefit of society.

The latest cover of The Big Issue features a portrait of King Charles III, taken by celebrated British photographer Rankin to mark the launch of the Coronation Food Project.

In the latest edition of Big Issue, a magazine dedicated to supporting the homeless, Charles shared further details about the new campaign. The magazine, which was published on Monday, also featured the monarch as its newest cover star.

"The issue of food scarcity is just as pressing and significant as the problem of food waste. If a solution could be devised to bridge this gap, it would effectively tackle two issues at once," expressed the King in the publication.

"I fervently hope that the Coronation Food Project will discover tangible methods to achieve precisely that - by salvaging an increased amount of excess food and delivering it to those who are most in need."

As is tradition on the monarchs actual birthday, ceremonial gun salutes sounded across the country, including at the Tower of London and Edinburgh Castle.

Concluding the day, he enjoyed a private dinner with his family at Clarence House. While Prince Harry was absent, it is understood that he intended to call his father from California to extend his birthday wishes.

On Monday, King Charles celebrated his 75th birthday together with other individuals who were also turning 75. Some of his properties hosted lively music afternoons and tea parties, and the monarch even made a stop at his residence in Highgrove, Gloucestershire, to join in the festivities.

Another indication of the King's dedication to public service was seen through a recent change that may have gone unnoticed. It has been revealed that three charitable organizations, which were established by him during his time as the Prince of Wales, are undergoing rebranding. The Princes Trust will now be known as the Kings Trust, and similarly, the Princes Foundation will adopt the name Kings Foundation. Additionally, the Prince of Wales's Charitable Fund will be renamed as the King Charles III Charitable Fund moving forward.
