In order to acquire a third Insured Weapon Slot in Call of Duty's DMZ, players must unlock the Phalanx faction, which is the fourth and final faction available for free. Once the Phalanx faction is unlocked, players will gain access to a new set of missions in the DMZ and can start working towards challenges for various passive equipment upgrades.
To unlock the Phalanx faction, players need to complete the Icebreaker mission. This mission becomes available once the Black Mous reputation reaches level 6. Players must locate a dead drop on the Vondel map, retrieve the tracker and the letter of introduction from inside, and deliver them across the map while battling AI enemies and enemy operators.
Icebreaker Mission Tasks
Players must complete three objectives in a single deployment during the Icebreaker mission. The objectives include retrieving the letter of introduction and tracker from the Vondel Zoo dead drop.
Deliver the letter of introduction to the Phalanx dead drop at the university.
Deliver the tracking device to the same Phalanx dead drop.
Vondel Zoo Dead Drop
Activate the mission, equip yourself, and descend into Vondel. Players should head towards the Zoo located in the Southwest quadrant of the map. The tracker and letter of introduction can be found at the zoo's dead drop, situated in the Southwest corner just north of the building housing the Veterinarian's Office. Look out for the dumpster near the outer gate, as players will notice a highlighted white outline when approaching the correct one. Retrieve the two items inside, discard any unnecessary cash, weapons, or supplies, and commence the journey to the university situated at the top of the map. Although players have the option to secure a vehicle for a faster trip, it is important to note that the noise produced by vehicles draws significant attention from both bots and players, thereby increasing the risk of death before completing the delivery.
University Dead Drop
Players at the university should be vigilant for a dumpster that appears white when nearby. The university dead drop can be found to the East of the main building, on the south wall of the northernmost building between City Hall and the university. It is situated just south of the gas station. Once the players locate the correct dumpster, they should interact with the dead drop and deposit the letter of introduction and the tracking device to successfully complete the Icebreaker mission.
With the successful completion of the Icebreaker mission, players are now able to exfil and discover the Phalax faction and its corresponding mission line in the DMZ menus. Additionally, the challenges have been unlocked, granting access to upgrades such as higher level cooldown reduction for the first and second Insured Weapon Slots. Furthermore, the unlock challenges for the third Insured Weapon Slot have also been made available, enabling players to deploy a third stored custom weapon for enhanced gameplay.

As a passionate fan of the Call of Duty franchise, I am thrilled about the release of the Icebreaker mission in Warzone 20, which allows players to unlock the powerful Phalanx faction and secure a third insured weapon. The mission itself is a challenging and engaging experience that requires players to navigate through the treacherous Vondel Zoo and University areas while battling AI enemies and enemy operators.
The Icebreaker mission is a true test of skill and strategy, as players must carefully plan their route, utilize their resources wisely, and adapt to the dynamic and unpredictable nature of the DMZ. The satisfaction of completing the mission and unlocking the Phalanx faction is immense, and the rewards, including access to new missions and challenges, make the effort well worth it.
Overall, the Icebreaker mission is an excellent addition to Warzone 20 and a testament to the developers' commitment to delivering exciting and engaging content for fans of the game. I can't wait to see what other challenges and adventures lie ahead in the future seasons of Warzone 20.
