Warframe, the popular looter shooter MMO developed by Digital Extremes, revolves around the collection of powerful weapons. However, players must first acquire the blueprints and gather a wealth of resources to construct them in the Orbiter's Foundry.
Warframe's vast planetary nodes offer a wide range of resources to discover, but the availability of these resources varies greatly. While resources like Ferrite, Nano Spores, and Neurodes can be found abundantly as players progress through the game, more elusive resources will require dedicated effort as players traverse the Star Chart.
10 Oxium
Oxium is a highly scarce resource that can only be obtained from a specific enemy known as the Oxium osprey. These enemies are exclusively found in missions against the Corpus faction. Each Oxium osprey drops a mere 7-12 Oxium, and it's important to note that if the enemy self-destructs by colliding with a player, it will not drop any Oxium at all.
Fortunately, there is a slim chance of finding Oxium in lockers and other storage containers. Additionally, there is a possibility of obtaining Oxium from the 3rd supply cache during the Uranus' Sealab Sabotage mission. While players will encounter numerous Oxium ospreys while completing other objectives in Warframe, it is important to be aware that this valuable resource will gradually accumulate over time.
9 Neural Sensors
Neural Sensors, a vital component for constructing new Warframes, are an exclusive planetary resource confined to the Jupiter and Kuva Fortress tile sets. These precious items are sporadically obtained from defeated foes, loot containers, and resource deposits scattered across missions.
For novice players, acquiring Neural Sensors poses a significant challenge as the planets where they can be found are relatively inaccessible in the early stages of the game. Jupiter serves as the sole avenue for newcomers to gather this resource, however, navigating its intricate gas cities can be a formidable undertaking for those who are not well-versed in the game's dynamic parkour system.
8 Orokin Cells
Orokin Cells, much like Neural Sensors, are a scarce planetary resource. However, unlike Neural Sensors, Orokin Cells are available on more than two planets, namely Ceres, Saturn, and Deimos. These valuable cells can be obtained by defeating enemies, searching loot containers, or accessing Orokin Cell Arrays scattered throughout missions. Additionally, there is a small chance for Orokin Cells to drop from specific enemies and bosses outside of these planets.
What poses a challenge for many players is the significant quantity of Orokin Cells required for Foundry blueprints. Building various Warframes and weapons generally necessitates 1-3 Orokin Cells, while some Prime blueprints can even demand the lofty amount of 10 Orokin Cells. Acquiring this rare resource in the necessary bulk is therefore a formidable task for players.
7 Hexenon
The addition of this resource coincided with the introduction of the Wisp Warframe and her weapons. It plays a crucial role in the blueprint for these weapons. The availability of Hexenon, however, is quite restricted as it can only be obtained in the Jupiter tile set.
Obtaining Hexenon can be quite challenging as it rarely drops from loot containers and primarily comes from Amalgam enemies. The drop rate is relatively low, similar to that of Oxium, making the farming process even more difficult. On the bright side, players who are farming Hexenon can also acquire Oxium and Neural Sensors on the same planet, allowing them to accomplish multiple objectives at once.
6 Cryotic
Content can only be accessed in the Excavation game mode, where players must protect excavators as they dig into the ground to obtain Cryotic. By successfully defending an excavator, players will receive 100 units of this resource.
Unfortunately, there are no means to accelerate the excavation process or obtain Cryotic through other methods. This resource can only be obtained through this specific game mode and cannot be expedited in any way. It is important to accumulate a significant amount of Cryotic, as it is required for various blueprints. For example, constructing the Sibear, a distinctive melee weapon in the game, necessitates a staggering 30,000 units of Cryotic.
5 Kuva
Kuva, the lifeblood of the Grineer Queens, is a crucial resource in the game. It is utilized in specific Foundry blueprints and is essential for rerolling Rivens, the game's most potent mods.
To obtain Kuva, players can complete Kuva Siphon missions, specific bounties in Cetus, Fortuna, or the Necralisk, and the survival node on the Kuva Fortress tileset. Endgame content like sorties and Archon Hunts also offer Kuva rewards. Additionally, Riven slivers, vitus essence, and steel essence can be exchanged for bundles of Kuva on a weekly basis. Nevertheless, acquiring Kuva is a challenging task as players require a substantial amount due to the inherent randomness involved in rerolling Riven stats.
4 Argon Crystals
Argon Crystals can be found in the Void tileset and are considered a rare resource. They have a similar rarity to Neural Sensors and Orokin Cells and can be obtained from enemies or purple crystalline outcroppings known as Argon Pegmatite.
Unlike other resources in the game, Argon Crystals have a unique mechanic. They gradually decay over the course of a day and vanish when the daily reset happens in Warframe. Because of this decay rate, they are even more scarce compared to other resources. Whenever players require Argon Crystals for a blueprint, they must visit the Void to gather them.
3 Tellurium
Tellurium, a unique resource, does not follow the typical drop pattern dictated by planetary locations in missions. Instead, it can only be obtained as a rare drop from enemies in specific mission types: Archwing missions and certain Uranus missions that include submersible level sections.
Since only a limited number of mission nodes on the Star Chart support Archwing or submersible gameplay, players are unlikely to frequently engage in these missions for other resource grinding purposes. Consequently, actively farming Tellurium can easily become a monotonous and time-consuming endeavor.
2 Entrati Lanthorns
Entrati Lanthorns, a new resource in Warframe, can only be obtained from missions on the Zariman Ten Zero. However, players must have advanced significantly in the game by obtaining a Railjack, a Necramech, and an extensive array of weapons to access the Zariman. Even then, the drop rates for Entrati Lanthorns are relatively low, comparable to resources like Orokin Cells, Neural Sensors, and Argon Crystals found on other planets.
1 Nitain Extract
Obtaining Nitain Extract can be a challenging task in the game as it doesn't drop from enemies or loot containers. Currently, the only way to acquire Nitain Extract is by finding all three caches in certain sabotage missions, which has a 2% chance of yielding one. Additionally, completing ghoul purge bounties in Cetus provides a 4% chance of obtaining Nitain Extract.
Fortunately, players can also obtain Nitain Extract through the Nightwave rewards pool. By spending fifteen Nightwave credits, players can acquire five Nitain Extract. However, this tradeoff requires effort and perseverance, as there is no simple and consistently reliable method for farming this valuable Warframe resource.
Warframe is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch.
