Caribbean Port Services did not provide any comments in response to CNN's inquiries.

Editor's P/S:

The brazen daylight burglary of the Caribbean Port Services terminal in Port-au-Prince exposes the deepening crisis in Haiti. Amidst the ongoing violence and political instability, the port, a vital lifeline for the country's food imports, has become a target of opportunists. The looting of vital supplies amplifies the desperation facing Haiti's population, already reeling from economic hardship and social unrest.

The security lapse and the chaotic scenes captured on video footage highlight the fragility of law and order in Haiti. The extension of the state of emergency and curfew underscores the government's struggle to contain the violence and restore stability. It is imperative that the Haitian authorities work swiftly to secure the port and other critical infrastructure, while addressing the underlying causes of the unrest, including poverty, inequality, and political corruption. International assistance and cooperation will also be crucial in supporting Haiti's efforts to overcome this crisis and build a more just and prosperous future for its people.
