Vin Diesel has released a new video for fans, addressing their feedback on Fast X and assuring them that their input will be considered for the upcoming Fast & Furious 11. The tenth installment in the main Fast Saga, Fast X was released in theaters last month and featured Vin Diesel's character, Dom Toretto, and his team of drivers going up against Jason Momoa's new villain, Dante. The film received mixed reviews from critics and is expected to be the first part of a two or three-part finale for the Fast & Furious franchise. With the release date for Fast & Furious 11 now announced, Diesel and his co-star Sung Kang (Han) share insights into their creative process for the next installment. They are actively looking at fan feedback from Fast X and previous entries in the franchise to shape the upcoming film. To hear Diesel's full comment, you can watch his Instagram video below.
The conversation is ongoing, even at 5am in the Cayman Islands. Unbeknownst to the world, we are here, meticulously analyzing the mythology of Fast. We are thoroughly reviewing the feedback provided by our incredible fans and relishing in the joy of being immersed in this creative dojo.
There is an abundance of inspiration and ample time for reflection. We are engaged in conversations, working on Fast X: Part 2, ensuring that every aspect is meticulously addressed. The path we are embarking on for Part 2 of Fast X is somewhat daunting, but we embrace the challenge. Our press tour has come to an end, allowing us the opportunity to shift our focus back to the creation process, which is immensely enjoyable for us. We approach this task with utmost seriousness because we understand its significance to all of you.
How Fast & Furious 11 Can Improve On Fast X
The film's massive cast weighed down the story, leaving most characters without enough room to shine and some feeling unnecessary. While certain action sequences paid homage to the franchise's roots, others were reminiscent of the more absurd aspects of F9.
Fast & Furious 11 shows no signs of reducing the cast. In fact, Gal Gadot's Gisele returns in the ending of Fast X, and Dwayne Johnson's Hobbs makes an appearance in the post-credit scenes. This means that the film will have even more characters to juggle. It's worth mentioning that some of Fast X's story issues could be attributed to the chaotic early production, with director Louis Leterrier taking over from Justin Lin midway through.
The confirmation of Leterrier as the director for Fast & Furious 11 brings hope for a more unified creative vision right from the start. If the upcoming film includes a greater presence of Momoa's character Dante and manages to elevate the action sequences without going too over-the-top, it has the potential to surpass the previous installment, Fast X. While it is yet to be revealed what ideas Diesel and the creative team will bring to the table for the next movie, it is evident that the actor and producer is already deeply invested in the project.
