Vietnam's New Bridge: Where Romance Reigns Over Crossing

Cau Hon, the enchanting bridge in Phu Quoc, Vietnam, captures the essence of romance Designed for couples, this captivating landmark invites lovers to share heartfelt moments amidst breathtaking scenery Discover the perfect spot for love, where kisses transcend boundaries

Italian architect Marco Casamonti and luxury tourism developer Sun Group have collaborated to create a new selfie hotspot called "Kiss Bridge." Couples can now capture romantic moments against the backdrop of the Vietnamese sunset on this bridge, located in Vietnam's southern Phu Quoc Island, renowned for its stunning beaches.

Spanning over 800 meters (half a mile), the bridge is divided into two separate halves, inspired by Michelangelo's fresco painting The Creation of Adam at the Sistine Chapel. Just like the pointing fingers in the painting, the two halves of the bridge do not quite touch.

The north and south sections of the bridge are only 30 centimeters (12 inches) apart, requiring kissers to perch on opposite sides and lean in for a dramatic smooch. The distance has been calculated so precisely that on January 1st of each year, the sun falls directly between the two halves, as reported by the Sun Group.

The bridges Vietnamese name, "Cau Hon," also means "proposing marriage," for any visitors hoping to pop the question.

The bridge can be found in the Sunset Town of Phu Quoc Islands, situated in the southern province of Kien Giang in Vietnam. It is just a 40-minute flight from Ho Chi Minh City. Phu Quoc is widely considered to be Vietnam's top island destination and is particularly popular with honeymooners.

The Sun Group has led several similar projects, such as the "Golden Bridge" near Da Nang, featuring a shimmering structure held up by two giant hands. Perched at an altitude of over 1,400 meters (4593.18 feet), the bridge stretches 150 meters (492.13 ft) in length.

Phu Quoc has made significant investments in its tourism infrastructure, attracting upscale hotel brands such as Regent, InterContinental, and JW Marriott. And now, there's a new tourist attraction on the island for visitors to enjoy.
