I believe the comp work on this is extremely well-done. However, they have extracted a small portion of his face from the footage and animated it separately. When it drops a sufficient distance, they seamlessly transition to a different clip showing him turning his head forward.

They have executed some impressive false floor techniques. For instance, the shot of the arm reveals the person hidden beneath the floor. Similarly, both the woman's legs and her entire body in another shot are created using a false floor.
