Vampire Survivors update 1.9 is now ready for download on all platforms where the game is available. This latest update brings in new characters, more weapons, and even a special bonus stage for players to enjoy.
Created by Luca "Poncle" Galante, Vampire Survivors is a popular roguelike shooter that gained immense popularity after its early access debut in December 2021. Since then, the game has seen 35 updates, with the majority being free content additions. The previous update, Vampire Survivors 1.8, was released in December 2023.
In January, Poncle announced the upcoming Vampire Survivors update 1.9, called Space 54, continuing the space theme from the previous patch. This update was released for PC, console, and mobile users in late February. Space 54 brings eight new achievements to the Steam version of the game, while other platforms receive seven achievements. The reason for this difference is due to the "EXTRA: Adventures" achievement, which was initially included in the 1.8 Adventures update in December but was not available on Steam at that time.
The 1.9 patch also introduces two new survivors to the Vampire Survivors character roster: Space Dude and Bat Robbert. Space Dude is a speedy fighter who starts with Phas3r, an energy weapon that can be upgraded to Photonstorm using an Empty Tome. His special ability allows him to ignore weapon Cooldowns every few seconds, making him a valuable asset in creating chaos.
Vampire Survivors_Shapeshifter Nino_Just Vent - Meanwhile, Bat Robbert is a bit slower and less squishy character who starts with Pako Battiliar, a bat-summoning weapon that can be evolved into Mazo Familiar with the help of a Hollow Heart
Bat Robbert is a character who may not be the fastest, but he is tough and durable. He starts with Pako Battiliar, a weapon that summons bats. This weapon can be upgraded into Mazo Familiar by using a Hollow Heart. Bat Robbert's special ability focuses on staying alive - he automatically regenerates one-third of his health and receives a boost in max HP whenever his health drops below 20%. This ability does not have a cooldown and recharges every time Bat Robbert fully heals himself.
Vampire Survivors Update 1.9.0 Patch Notes
The latest update, version 1.9, brings a new bonus stage known as Space 54. This level is filled with unique enemies and valuable items, offering an exciting challenge for players. Poncle suggests using the Disable Moving Background option if the level's design feels overwhelming, helping to reduce any potential motion sickness.
Looking ahead, Vampire Survivors has more patches lined up for 2024. Poncle has hinted at a mysterious Vampire Survivors Chaos Roadmap that will guide the game's development throughout the year and beyond.

Cross-Save Now In Public Beta
Available on the Steam public-beta branch and on Android public beta (FAQ here)! Please send us any feedback about the feature, it's very delicate since we're talking about save-data, so we'll take all the help we can get to make sure it's solid.
Please also let us know if there's any other service you could find useful. We've been investigating cross-platform-DLC (so buy in one place, play anywhere) but it's the biggest bureaucratic can of worms ever; so, not being a technical problem, I'm honestly not too hopeful we'll be able to get it done (if you follow gaming news then you probably know very well how protective certain platforms are of any paid content).

Stage: Space 54
In this bonus stage, you'll find lots of items and encounter some unusual enemies. At the 11-minute mark, walls will no longer block your movement.
If the visuals are too intense for you, try enabling the "Disable Moving Background" option to see if it helps improve your experience.
In the Brave Story relic, players can now choose Random Level Up choices during Stage Selection. This feature was previously only available before starting a run. With this update, you can now try out runs where the RNG selects weapons for you when leveling up. Good luck on your adventures!
Weapon: Phas3r & Photonstorm
You can find this weapon in Space 54 and unlock it for all future runs by leveling it up to Level 7. The base version only changes size horizontally based on the Area. The evolved version shoots at least double the number of projectiles compared to the base version, sometimes even five times more when landing a critical hit.
Weapon: Pako Battiliar & Mazo Familiar
You can unlock this weapon at any time by simply defeating a large number of bats in multiple runs. It will shoot extra times when you get hit or lose a shield. As it evolves, it will shoot even more projectiles and cause more damage based on the bonus Max Health you have.
New Character: Space Dude
Fast character that starts with Phas3r.
Has a special ability that fires all weapons regardless of their Cooldown every few seconds. The cooldown of this ability is affected by the Cooldown stat.
New Character: Bat Robbert
Pako Battiliar is a character who is a bit tanky to begin with. He has a special ability where if his health drops below 20%, he will gain an additional +16 MaxHP (up to a maximum of +400) and recover 30% of his health. This ability can be used again every time Pako is fully healed.
