Usher's teenage son Naviyd found a clever way to connect with his "favorite artist" PinkPantheress. Usher, 45, took to his Instagram Stories on Thursday, April 25, to share a "quick storytime" about how Naviyd, 15, took his phone to send a direct message to PinkPantheress, 23, "about a week or so ago." He even shared screenshots of the messages.

"Hey, it's me, Naviyd, Usher's son. I'm your biggest fan! Please follow me back," the teenager messaged, sharing his Instagram handle.

Usher found out about the exchange when PinkPantheress commented, "This is crazy," and he didn't recognize her account. But, he wanted to make his son happy, so he accepted PinkPantheress' offer to host them at the next show.

Usher once again reached out to express his gratitude to the emerging artist. He mentioned that his son was attending her show that night and had to send him because of his dedication and creativity. Usher was impressed by the effort his son made to get her attention by taking his phone. He hoped that they would get a chance to connect soon.

"It was a proud moment for Naviyd. He was taking action on something he cared about," Usher wrote. "Although he broke my trust by using my phone without permission, I also realize that I should have been more cautious."

He continued, "Nonetheless, I appreciate the hustle and him making it happen. From a text, to a concert, to the artist. He masterminded this whole thing and made it happen."

Usher shares Naviyd and his brother, Usher "Cinco" V, 16, with his ex-wife, Tameka Foster, as well as daughter Sovereign Bo, 3, and son Sire Castrello, 2, with his wife, Jenn Goicoechea.

Despite experiencing a resurgence in his music career recently, with highlights like a Las Vegas residency and a performance at Super Bowl LVIII, Usher's top priority remains being a present father in his children's lives.
