Chinese gaming giant NetEase has revealed plans for a new game studio in Austin, Texas. This team, known as Fantastic Pixel Castle, will be led by industry veteran Greg Street. Their upcoming project, codenamed Ghost, is set in a stunning and captivating "new fantasy universe." Street brings his experience as a lead systems designer for World of Warcraft at Blizzard and his recent role as executive producer for the League of Legends MMO at Riot Games to this exciting venture.
Comprising individuals with experience from renowned games such as Fortnite, Overwatch, Valorant, League of Legends, and Guild Wars 2, the team behind Street is exceptional.
Fantastic Pixel Castle, a "remote-first" studio, is actively seeking new talent. Street emphasized that MMOs are known for their immense challenges but highlighted Fantastic Pixel Castle's commitment to success through its unique working structure and transparent communication with fans.
"We are a fully remote studio, enabling us to recruit top-notch game developers. Our commitment to remaining small allows us to rapidly refine our designs," stated Street. "Moreover, we prioritize showcasing our game early and frequently to the community and ensuring that their continuous feedback shapes our progress. We owe this possibility to our strategic partner, NetEase Games, which comprehends our vision and grants us creative independence, resources, and support for achieving success."

Editor's P/S
As an enthusiastic fan, I am incredibly excited about the upcoming MMO codenamed Ghost from Fantastic Pixel Castle. The team behind this project is absolutely stacked with talent, with individuals who have worked on renowned titles such as Fortnite, Overwatch, Valorant, League of Legends, and Guild Wars 2. This game has the potential to be something truly special, and I can't wait to see more of it.
The fact that Fantastic Pixel Castle is a remote-first studio is also very exciting to me. This means that they will be able to recruit top-notch game developers from all over the world, which will only serve to make the game even better. I am also very impressed by the studio's commitment to transparency and communication with fans. They have already stated that they will be showcasing the game early and frequently to the community and that they will be taking feedback into account as they develop the game. This is a great way to build hype and excitement for the game, and it also shows that the studio is committed to making a game that the fans will love.
