Travis reflected on the moments when he realized that he could have been killed, but instead, he found guidance and mentorship from his brother. This revelation was shared in his brother's Kelce documentary, which premiered on Prime Video in September 2023. Throughout their journey, they faced difficult challenges as brothers, but Travis knew that his brother had approached the coaches and vouched for him, assuring them that if given a second chance, he would not disappoint. “During the “Manningcast” show in November 2022, Travis fondly recounted a memorable altercation with Jason – our last physical confrontation that ensued after a game of basketball when he landed a solid punch on my face. It was a momentous occasion for me to finally reach a point where we stood eye-to-eye during our high school days,” Travis shared. “In the heat of the moment, I swiftly hoisted him up and forcefully threw him onto the kitchen floor, causing the stove to come unhinged from its position. When Travis was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013, he picked a jersey number with a special meaning.
Travis expressed his love and gratitude towards his brother in February 2023, stating that Jason's birth year of 1987 was the sole reason he sported the number 87.
