Britney Spears alleges in her memoir, The Woman in Me, that Justin Timberlake, 42, was unfaithful to her multiple times during their relationship, according to a reliable source.
In one instance, Spears claims that the former member of 'NSync was captured in a photograph with "one of the girls from All Saints" while they were out in London in 2000. (The British girl group All Saints consisted of Natalie Appleton, Nicole Appleton, Melanie Blatt, and Shaznay Lewis before disbanding in 2001.) This incident supposedly occurred one year into Spears' relationship with Timberlake.
Additionally, Spears reveals that at a later date, Timberlake allegedly boasted to one of her dancers about a girl he had been intimate with the previous night in Las Vegas. According to an insider, Timberlake reportedly stated that he "hooked up with her last night."
The singer known as "Stronger" and Timberlake, who first met while working together on The All New Mickey Mouse Club in the early '90s, publicly revealed their relationship in 1999. However, after being together for three years, they decided to part ways in 2002 following rumors of infidelity.
When questioned about the speculation regarding Spears' alleged unfaithfulness, Timberlake stated to Barbara Walters, "We're not perfect, and I don't pass judgment on anyone. It was just young love. Our relationship was incredibly intense, that's undeniable."
Timberlake’s breakup ballad “Cry Me a River” also hinted at their separation being a result of infidelity. Even in the music video, Timberlake shared the screen with a Spears doppelgänger.
Gallery Books/Mega"I was genuinely stunned, to be honest. I felt completely lost, unsure of how to react," Spears revealed to Rolling Stone in 2003 upon discovering that Timberlake had seemingly composed a song about her. "It was the absolute last thing I expected someone to do. I was truly taken aback. However, you gain wisdom from such experiences."
She further expressed her thoughts at the moment, stating, "In my opinion, it appeared as a desperate ploy. Nevertheless, it proved to be an effective method to promote the album. He certainly displayed cunning."
Timberlake, who has yet to address Spears' memoir claims, later revisited the musical drama in his 2018 book, Hindsight & All the Things I Can't See in Front of Me. In the book, he shared, "I have experienced betrayal and anger. 'Cry Me a River' poured out of me in just two hours, unplanned. The intensity of my emotions drove me to write it, and I channeled those feelings into a medium that others could hear and hopefully connect with. People heard me, and they understood because we have all been in that place."
Timberlake later found love with Jessica Biel, and the couple now has two sons. On the other hand, Spears has two sons from her previous marriage to Kevin Federline. She recently tied the knot with Sam Asghari in June 2022, but sadly, they parted ways in August.
On Tuesday, October 24, The Woman in Me will be available on store shelves.
