Highlights
The ancient sorcerers in Jujutsu Kaisen's Culling Game possess impressive skills and power, but only a few are considered elite.
Dhruv Lakdawalla and Iori Hazenoki, although powerful ancient sorcerers, were not the most dominant within their group. Sukuna, known as the King of Curses, surpasses all other ancient sorcerers in terms of strength, proving to be unrivaled except for Satoru Gojo. With his incredible Cursed Energy and formidable abilities, Sukuna stands as an intimidating adversary.
In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, numerous mighty sorcerers have emerged and faded over the course of time. Although fans are primarily familiar with the modern era, the series has also explored past eras through the Culling Game.
Within the Culling Game, numerous formidable ancient sorcerers have showcased their awe-inspiring abilities, leaving fans impressed. While each possesses their own unique power, only a select few can truly be regarded as elite sorcerers.
8 Dhruv Lakdawalla
Dhruv, an acclaimed sorcerer from approximately 2000 years ago, is often regarded as a formidable entity. Thanks to Kenjaku's intervention, he is granted the opportunity to partake in the highly anticipated Culling Game. It is believed that this incarnation is secondary, as Dhruv has previously displayed immense power, capable of single-handedly conquering the entire nation of Japan.
Despite performing admirably in the Culling Game and amassing over 90 points, Dhruv ultimately proves to be no match for Yuta, highlighting the true extent of his strength. While undeniably impressive, it is evident that he falls short compared to the most powerful ancient sorcerers.
7 Iori Hazenoki
Iori, a formidable ancient closer, possesses incredible skills. During the Culling Game, he aligned with Reggie Star's group, where his immense power was quickly acknowledged. In combat, Iori displayed exceptional prowess with his Cursed Technique, enabling him to detonate specific body parts remotely.
Furthermore, Iori possesses the rare ability to utilize the intricate Reverse Cursed Technique, a skill that only a select few in the JJK world can master. While he may not be the strongest, he remains highly skilled as an ancient sorcerer.
6 Reggie Star
Reggie Star, one of the prominent antagonists of the Culling Game, possessed the capabilities of an ancient sorcerer and even led his own group. His aura alone made it evident to fans that he possessed immense strength. In his battle against Megumi, he displayed his power by matching and surpassing him on certain levels.
Although he had great control over Cursed Energy, it wasn't sufficient to defeat Megumi. This highlights the fact that Reggie, while formidable, fell short compared to other ancient sorcerers who left a more significant impact on the Culling Game and the entirety of JJK.
5 Takako Uro
Takako Uro, a sorcerer with a thousand-year history, has been reincarnated to participate in the Culling Game. She possesses immense power, making her one of the strongest characters encountered in this arc. In her previous life, she held a prestigious leadership role in the Sun, Moon, and Stars Squad, which was associated with the Fujiwara family. This demonstrates her high level of respect and formidable skills as a sorcerer.
In battle, Takako proved capable of inflicting significant damage on Yuta, a highly powerful sorcerer of the present era. Additionally, she was able to harm Ryu Ishigori, despite his exceptional reserves of Cursed Energy. Through her ability to manipulate the sky, she exhibited a certain level of control over space. Notably, Takako is among the rare ancient sorcerers known to possess the skill of Domain Expansion.
4 Ryu Ishigori
Ryu Ishigori is an ancient sorcerer with exceptional power, possessing an unprecedented level of Cursed Energy output. Kenjaku, in all his life, has never witnessed such high energy levels. Ryu's remarkable durability, combined with his immense amounts of Cursed Energy, makes him nearly unbeatable. While he can hold his ground against Yuta to a certain extent, it is undeniable that Yuta surpasses him in strength.
With the ability to unleash Granite Blast, Ryu wreaks havoc on the battlefield, obliterating multiple buildings simultaneously. Additionally, the majority of characters are unable to withstand the force of his potent Cursed Energy attacks. Notably, Ryu is among the select few capable of utilizing Domain Expansion.
3 Yorozu
Yorozu, a sorcerer of great power from the Heian Era, was completely consumed by her obsession with Sukuna. In the Culling Game, she was reborn in the form of Tsumiki Fushiguro's body.
Although not on par with Sukuna, Yorozu showcased her formidable abilities and was able to hold her ground to some extent in their battle. Additionally, she possessed a formidable Domain Expansion, although it fell short in comparison to Sukuna's might. Eventually, Sukuna overcame her using the 10 Shadows Technique, emerging as the victor.
2 Hajime Kashimo
Hajime Kashimo, a sorcerer from 400 years ago, possesses astounding power that Kenjaku acknowledges as exceptional. While not on par with Sukuna in terms of strength, Kashimo commands significant respect. He proved his mettle in the intense battles of the Culling Game against formidable opponents.
Kashimo's Cursed Energy carries electrifying attributes, rendering him an extremely formidable adversary. Remarkably, he can deliver decisive strikes without even needing to resort to Domain Expansion. In his clash with Hakari, Kashimo undoubtedly displayed his capabilities, although ultimately succumbing to defeat.
1 Sukuna
Sukuna, the King of Curses, is undoubtedly the most formidable ancient sorcerer in JJK. In the Heian Era, he was revered as the unbeatable champion, a status that remains unmatched even in the present day, except by Satoru Gojo.
With an immense reserve of Cursed Energy, along with his powerful Innate Technique and Domain Expansion, Sukuna is virtually invincible. Additionally, his mastery of the Reverse Cursed Technique makes him an absolute nightmare for any opponent to face.
