Unveiling the Ultimate Zelda Companion: DIY Automatic Reloading Wooden Beam Shooter

A creative Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player ingeniously constructs an intricate wooden beam shooter that not only shoots with precision but also boasts an innovative automatic reloading mechanism

A highly imaginative player of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has constructed a remarkable device that fires wooden beams and reloads them automatically. This installment of Zelda stands out from the rest of the series by granting players a collection of tools that enable them to construct intricate machines, even if they serve no real purpose.

Tears of the Kingdom presents players with early abilities that unleash their creative potential. Using the Ultrahand, players can manipulate almost any object within the game, empowering them to combine various elements and construct anything from a car fueled by the energy emitted by Electric Lizalfos to an elaborate barbecue that cooks adorable and friendly Koroks.

The Reddit user, known as ManufactuerOk8154, shared a video clip on the Tears of the Kingdom subreddit, showcasing their latest creation in a series of intricate contraptions. These complex machines built by ManufactuerOk8154 serve no practical purpose in the game but are instead a demonstration of the game's intricate systems. One such creation is the Automatic Reloading Wooden Beam Shooter, an automated catapult resembling the one used by another player to launch Koroks.

Constructed from various lengths and widths of wooden planks, the device features a Zonai Spring attached to one plank at the rear. A wooden beam connects to the center of the springboard. At the front, there is a large machine gun clip-like structure filled with wooden construction beams found in the game world of Hyrule. By utilizing the Zonai Steering Stick, the device activates, causing a wooden beam to drop from a slot in the clip. The beam aligns with the one connected to the Zonai Spring in a chamber equipped with wooden wagon wheels. As the spring propels forward, it launches the wooden beam in the chamber, akin to a bullet being fired.

The machine lacks mobility, therefore it cannot be easily directed towards an approaching enemy, making it ineffective for combat unless bombs are affixed to the beams. In the comments section, ManufactuerOk8154 suggests that although adding bombs is a viable option, the device's capacity to accommodate additional components is limited by the game's restrictions. Despite not being as advantageous as a Hover Bike in Tears of the Kingdom, it remains a remarkable machine. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is currently accessible on Switch.
